I just went through a 4 day learning process on how to do what you are asking as part of your question.
I am not the brightest bulb in the chandelier, so I did my trial and error and frustrtion, and finally I got something.
Please indulge  me by clicking the link below. Have a quick look, and then we wait for a Terry or a YaMe or anyone else with experience to explain it better.

Like Fred, I've been experimenting with JAlbum too and have set up a little gallery. It's free up to 30MB, then you pay. It'ss good fun trying the different skins and ways of presenting your photos.

For several years I have used PBase as a means sharing my photographs. You have to pay for the web space, it's not as "jazzy" as JAlbum but is a well known place to see other people's images.
Click the green globe to the left of this post to see my PBase gallery. It needs a bit of a tidy up but you'll get the idea.
A free place to share photos is http://www.flickr.com/ - if you don't mind the advertising.
A useful feature with all of these with respect to this forum is that you can "Insert" images from these web sites to illustrate a post. It allows you to show an image larger than the "Attach" function allow of 128KB.

Terry

I must say: I was at your site at PBase, along time ago.
When I was trying to get some ideas for a project I was trying to do.
Not knowing I would see the owner on a forum!

Thanks

This is what I got from a forum member that helped me grasp it a little better.
First website using Jalbum

http://tommydidit.com/_Jalbum_Tutorial.html

Maybe the person that made this will eply to any question, or even others who are familiar with Jalbum can answer too.
Hope this helps...

I've had a look at that document - a man (or woman?) after my own heart  Wink It's very helpful.

When I started with JAlbum, I just made single albums with one set of photographs and no folders. That way, you get to try different skins for each album.
I've yet to try the album with multiple folders, Fred is ahead of me.  Shocked
Terry.
