Not sure if this is what you want, but drag the template (The blank image labelled 'template') as often as required from the thumbnail area to the page editor, arrange and resize as required, then save it as a layout. Then from just below the page editor  'size', 'custom' then select 'layout' then name of file you saved the layout.

Hi Msmack,

Over time, your monitor settings will drift, and if you have not checked your monitor calibration, you may not realise this has happened. If you are in control of all stages of the final image production - i.e. you are not printing other folk's images, then you do not need to calibrate anything, provided what you are printing lies within the gamut of what you can see on screen, since you can make 'mental adjustments' between the screen and print e.g. if the print is dark, then darken the monitor, so that when editing an image you will be making the colours lighter, or simply over brighten the image, leaving the monitor settings alone.  However, it helps to get the screen display to be as good as you can, and to be able to keep it consistent, else you will be dealing with another set of variables.

One easy way of achieving a reasonable screen setting is by using  'Quick gamma' http://quickgamma.de/indexen.html

If you are using an Adobe product, and maybe some others, you may find you are inadvertently double profiling.

Basically, what I am saying is that I think for your purposes, set the monitor up as best as you can using Quick Gamma, say. The R1800 seems to be fine. The problem is most like connected with the profiles you have assigned - be aware that there is a difference between assign and convert to profile in photoshop.

Hi Fred and Terry,

This OP asked a similar question back in January. He/she did not have the courtesy to follow up on your suggestions back then, or to say how the problem was solved. You can generally only help folk who will help themselves.

Hi Dan,

The EX1 is listed  on http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/tech-raw.htm so you could download the trial version of Ultimate and see if it works for your camera. Mike has stated he will be updating studio biannually wrt OS and new cameras, and since it was last updated in February, then I would expect an update to studio soon, to include the new cameras.

Best wishes,

Not quite sure if this sort of does what you want. It depends on the area you can print over, compared to size of paper, so you may need to go borderless in the printer driver. You don't want to crop, so make sure crop scissors are off, drag template to layout page, and set size to 3.5 by 5.5, and centre it (there is a button which gives layout choices (3rd from lhs, below layout page) you may want to manually adjust it, if printer requires uneven margins. Select custom page size, set to 3.5 by 5.5, auto crop off, no borders, unlock auto rotate, apply settings. Add images in the normal way.

All you have to do is play around with these settings, as I've just done, it seems to work OK. I expect if you try, you can it exactly the way you want it, so then save and recall the job as required.

Until someone comes along with the specific answer, you may find a clue somewhere in here -  http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/learn.htm

Or try  putting 'panorama' in the search box towards top of this page

My first guess would be not enough memory in pc allocated to qimage or page/swap file. My second would be network or cable problems. I expect others may help if you can give details of operating system, etc.

Best wishes,

Ray

Is it something simple, such as slightly larger paper than used previously?

85  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Is there anyway to change the unit into Metric unit? wandering ot on: September 15, 2011, 12:09:30 PM
Interesting terminology. It should be 'USA' and 'Metric'  - 'English' system was pre 1824, since named 'Imperial', but that was/is slightly different than USA. A nice summary at http://www.france-property-and-information.com/imperial-system-and-history.htm  (Note that they spell 'metre', incorrectly  Grin ). In truth, within the UK, our measurement system has been an absolute mess since about 1970. it is now more of a hotch potch since before 1824. The imperial system was empirically derived, the metric was not, there is no 'life' to the metric system.

In the Epson printer driver, properties, select 'print preview'. it will save you ink and paper if you've incorrectly set the borders or similar. No use for checking colours or details like sharpening, though.

Mitrajoon, the op of this thread uses psd files. Hardgravephoto said he had the exact same problem If he's not using psd, then it is not the same problem, and i guess it should be in a different thread.

If it is .psd files that are  giving the problems, then you you need to know that that is 'owned' by Adobe, and from time to time they will change the specification. You should be able to get the latest specification of the  format from Adobe. I would imagine that Adobe can read their own file formats OK, but third parties - e.g. Qimage, and others, may not have been able to implement the latest changes.

Hi,

In cs5 there is a difference 'twixt 'assign' and 'convert' - beware. http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=1315593&seqNum=6

Also, you could record an action, and play it in batch mode http://www.adobepress.com/articles/article.asp?p=1395933&seqNum=3 and preceding to see how to record actions. Qimage does not handle 32bit/channel images, if that is what you are using for prophoto.

Ray

Hi Fred,

My bad. I had not realise that the Mack was not the op My response is for Johnami - the op. A different problem afaik from that raised by Mack, and a different printer, maybe it should be a different thread.

By 'obsolete' I guess you mean 'no longer supported'. afaik the printer is pretty old, since as I said there were no Epson drivers for w7 from Epson - so I guess that means 'obsolete' . You can still get paper and ink for it  Cheesy, and most likely spare parts - just Epson wanting folk to buy a new printer, I guess.

Best wishes,

Ray
