1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: how to fix live view grid being off set in version 2024.102 on: June 10, 2024, 01:18:12 PM
Thanks Mike,

I worked a bit last night on placement and got everthing working the way it was before.  What you wrote confirms what I did, many thanks!  I'm not quite sure how everything got off from where I had the settings before but everything is printing great now!

Thanks for the reply, Mike.  I didn't changed any printer driver settings for this to happen.  I went through my printer settings and can't find a problem.  I've enclosed a screen print of the portrait setting.  With my limited knowlege I'm at my wits end, any suggestions?
3  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / how to fix live view grid being off set in version 2024.102 on: June 08, 2024, 04:02:55 PM
I opened Qimage Ultimate to print a photo and noticed the live view grid was off set to the top of the page in portrait mode.  In landscape mode live view was off set to the left of the page.  The margins seem to be off also with the top margin in Portrait mode and the left margin in landscape mode thinner than the other margins.  I don't recall seeing this a couple of day ago while I was printing.  How do I correct this?
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / How to force Qimage to open a specific custom template? on: October 09, 2020, 10:27:18 PM
I have setup a custom template and want to always open that particular template when Qimage opens and keep it open when I delete images from the template.  How can that be accomplished.

Thanks Mike,

I've previously edited the cores under Edit>preferences>Multithreading to two, but haven't tested it yet, should I actually go to one thread before I test it at two?

Win 10 task manager>Performance reports 2 cores and 4 logical processors.  So you are telling me QIU considers the 4 logical processors 4 cores?

Thanks Larry

Hi folks,

I bought QI Ultimate a week or so back and I am having continuing problems with the program crashing randomly after printing to my Canon TS9020 printer.  I have deleted QIU and reloaded it after cleaning up all remnants of QIU on my laptop.  I have updated my Canon Drivers to the latest XPS drivers.
Sometimes I can print several prints and no problem then out of the blue my laptop shuts down and I have to restart QIU in safe mode.  This is very frustrating as I love QIU otherwise, its exactly what I have been looking for.

My laptop is an Acer running an Intel core i3-370M 2 cores and 4 threads, 2.40ghz processor with 8GB of RAM the max.  I have increased the page files.  When I load QIU it reports that I have a Quad core processor which is incorrect.

Any suggestions?Huh?

Thanks for the Reply, Terry,

I was able to set up the layout right twice but when I printed a photo my printer would spit out a blank page then print the photo without the name in the right location.  I never really have figured out what was going on until this morning.  The print preview would show Page 2/2 and the selected paper size and the DPI at the top of the preview and the print queue would show the photo link and the template link.  Now I can go to custom in the prints tab and select Layouts then the custom template and then drag over my photo and everything works as I want it to.  I think what I might have been doing was loading the photo first then loading the template which would then show up as two pages in the queue since the template is in essence a "photo".  Does this sound reasonable?

I looked at the signature feature and decided it was a bit more complicated than I wanted to deal with, maybe somewhere down the line I'll give it a shot when I get more familiar with QU.

Thanks for the help

Well that didn't work so its back to square one.

Whar i want to do seems simple enough.  I want to set up a blank place holder for 8X10 photos with the place holder containing my name in the lower left corner of a printed photo page.  Is this impossible to do with QImage Ultimate??

OK, I think I figured out that I need to save everything I needed as a job and it works!  Embarrassed If anyone has a better process for what I need to do please let me know.
12  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Template and layout question on: October 26, 2018, 09:47:48 PM
Hi this is my first post so if I ask a really dumb question please be gentle. Huh?

My problem is I have been trying to set up and save a couple if templates with my name at the bottom left to print either 8X10 Landscape or 8X10 Portrait on an 8.5X11 Photo paper page.  I want to save these and be able to recall the blank with text page when I want to print a photo.  I've been able to set up a template with what I want on it and print one photo which is what I wanted but when I change to the other page orientation and start to print the photo I've selected I get a blank page then the print I wanted.  What am I doing wrong?  Can you not save the blank template with just text on it and recall that blank template?
