|
on: January 03, 2024, 03:55:29 PM

Hi Everybody, I own an Epson SC-P900. In the 2024.100 version of QU the max. settings for prints are (overdrive) 1440 and poster (max) 720. But in the 2024.101 I'm only capable of choosing print (overdrive) 720 and poster (max) 360. Paper size and type are the same. Can someone help me out?

Hi Mike, I owned an Epson SC-P900. I'm forced to uninstall QU 2024.101 and reinstall QU 204.100. Why and how I send in a personal mail, because it wil to long in a post on the forum. But I've another question. I've changed the default data location into E:/QImage. I've no clue how to restore this. Can you/ or anyone else help out?
With regards, Martin the Netherlands

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Hardproof module
|
on: June 05, 2023, 12:09:54 PM
|
Hi Mike, I own an Epson SC-P900 with a roll-unit. I considered a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000. Especially since the 'hard-proof' module is missing in the Epson software. Hard Proofing in Canon's Professional Print and Layout (YouTube-clip by a fotospeed-product specialist, UK. Time-stamp 4:52 and further. brightness and contrast is sufficient. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4llsJvaWU4EIn Dutch we have the expression; "Better well stolen than ill conceived," imho it be would a brilliant extension in QU. Placement in the interface? Above/beneath; Prints sizes -> Multi Panel Print. Regards, Martin. the Netherlas.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Smart cropping
|
on: March 02, 2023, 10:22:21 AM
|
Hi Mike, Adobe LightRoom has several tools to crop a file; A: Straighten B: 9 overlays - modes (see attached screenshot) C: a palette of ratio's & custom one's. (see attached screenshot)
Those tools give me much more control over how/what to crop. [as photographer, I like to use other overlays then the boring 'rules of thirds' So as for now, before printing with QU, I went over each file over, as last step, to Adobe LightRoom, to crop. btw It is also non-destructive.
Missing something? Or is it considering whether it is a desirable, to be developed, module on the page-editor tab. (or elsewhere)
With regards.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: File extension using plug-ins
|
on: March 02, 2023, 09:30:36 AM
|
Hi Mike, Thanks for the explanation, regarding the file-extension part of my question. Can you also answer the second part of my question? Regarding I don't understand anything else. In the info, immediately after the file name, there is a large number (8 digits or more). What's that all about? In the screenshot originally attached, the number was; 42,053,032.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Recall printersettings
|
on: February 23, 2023, 10:56:43 AM
|
Hi, I've in the upper part of 'printer/media' chosen my default printer (Epson SC-P900). When I click on the icon to recall saved profiles, by default the search option is 'set-ups for all printers'. I get a long list. When trying to filter the results, by choosing 'current printer', I get an 'empty' list.
by scrolling manually, I'm able to find the profile I want. What are I doing wrong?
With regards, Martin

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / File extension using plug-ins
|
on: February 23, 2023, 10:06:10 AM
|
Hi, (reading the info in the small horizontal part of the window, hovering over the thumbnail/live view) when I use the Lightroom plug-in, the file-extension is *.jpg or *.tiff. But from Photoshop; *.qex ?? I've never heard of that extension. And don't understand the purpose either.
I don't understand anything else. In the info, immediately after the file name, there is a large number (8 digits or more). What is that all about? I do understand the further information in the 'info panel'.
With regards, Martin

Hi Fred,
So if a given file has a given resolution in DPI, Qimage calculates the factor needed to get the desired resolution in PPI. " Using: "Printer and Settings" -> "Processing" -> setting: Print Res: XXX

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Epson SC-P900 -> 'Optimize enlargement'
|
on: February 14, 2023, 10:00:15 AM
|
Hi, By default, this option is set to "on" in the printerdriver. According to the help function; 'Select this check box to optimize an enlargement to achieve long poster or panoramic printing without using a particular application. Clear this check box if text or graphics are distorted; however, output length may be limited depending on the application'. Using Qimage Ultimate, should I disable this option in the printer driver?
Regards, Martin.
