Mike's Software / Qimage / Which Interpolation Type Do You Use?
|
on: February 27, 2010, 03:25:08 PM
|
I'm interested in learning more about Interpolation Types. I've always settled on Hybrid SE because the user guide says it's based on the#1 best choice of Hybrid, plus it's faster and smoother.
I use an Epson R1800 and have been pleased with my results. However, I'm wondering if I should be choosing a different type of Interpolation Type based on the kind of photo, media, etc. that I'm printing.
So, I'm wondering, which Interpolation Type do you use?
Thanks.

I've been printing up to 20x30 images from my 6mb Canon Rebel XT for years. Been winning camera club awards and have been selling some images, too. Use Qimage for up to 13x19, and send out for the larger ones. Lots of complements, and not one complaint!
Thanks for the great utility, Mike!

Technical Discussions / Printers / Epson - Anyone from Epson here want to hear a gripe about your utilities?

I have an Epson R1800. I have a gripe regarding the usability of the Maintenance section of the driver.
1) I think the buttons should be in a more logical order from top to bottom. Why start with "Nozzle Check and Cleaning", then go to "Nozzle Check" then go to "Head Cleaning". I think the first one should be "Nozzle Check", then "Cleaning"then "Nozzle Check and Cleaning".
2) In "Nozzle Check and Cleaning", the button on the right is "Start" and "Cancel" is on the left. But in the Nozzle Check", the "Print" button is on the Left, and "Finish" is on the right. So not only are they REVERSED, but they're labeled differently in the different sections. (Not to mention that Print Head Alignment uses "Ok" and "Cancel"
I'm just looking for some better logic and consistency here.

Hi everyone. I just re-found this forum, as I had to take a few months off to handle some elder-care issues. It's good to see the same folks here that used to be at the Yahoo group.
1) I only used Epson inks.
2) I don't turn off the printer when it's not used. The owners guide makes NO mention of turning off the printer when it is not used for any period of time.
If this is truly a requirement, I think the manual should state it. Better yet, they should build that message into the printer driver or other pop-ups. And also include it on their paper boxes.

Technical Discussions / Printers / 2nd R1800 Clogged. Need new (not Epson) printer

Like the subject states, the 2nd Epson R1800 I've owned has a clogged head. Each lasted two years. Short of taking the printer apart to suction out the clogged head, I've tried everything. So now I think it's between the Canon 9000 and HP B8800.
I'm mostly an amateur, camera club guy. But have sold many prints at a few craft fairs.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Pros and Cons of each printer?
I'd like to have a wider range of paper I could print on as opposed to the R1800. Canvas for example. Also, I'd like black and white printing in addition to color (the R1800 didn't do true b&w).
Thanks.
