Technical Discussions / Printers / Epson P700 Parameter Override
|
on: July 08, 2023, 05:09:51 PM
|
Just setup a new Epson P700 and it seems that they want you to make a lot of selections--paper type, size, etc--on the LCD screen in order to print. After watching a YT video about the Epson Print Layout software, I downloaded and installed it because there's a checkbox whereby you can have the software override printer settings with whatever parameters are selected in the EPL program. Before I waste any paper and ink, can I assume that Qimage will override the printer, too?
Thanks!

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Nozzle Check Pattern
|
on: June 27, 2023, 03:01:13 PM
|
Recently, I've suspected some clogged nozzles (gray ink) on my Canon PRO-100. Rather than run the Canon cleaning cycle, I remembered that Qimage allows targeted cleaning/nozzle checks. So, I fired up a print pattern for the black/gray channel, but I have no idea what it's supposed to look like. I've looked at the online documentation, but it doesn't seem to cover this aspect of the software. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Deleting Export File Folders
|
on: May 28, 2021, 04:14:59 PM

Is there a quick & easy way to remove all the export file folders? Navigating to their location under ProgramData reveals a grayed out "Delete" button in Windows Explorer. I deleted everything via Utilities>Manage Disk Usage, but the folders and files remain. It really can't be this hard, can it? Also, since I rarely reprint anything, if I set my Preferences to remove prints automatically will these temporary folders/files not be created? Both standalone and from PS/LR? Thank you for any insight provided.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Applying Different Edits to Multiple Images

Just so I'm clear...
I can't do this directly in Qimage, correct? I'd have to have separate copies of the file such as File1, File2, File3, and File4, then add them to individual cells? I tried "Ins" to create a copy, but the edits still apply to all cells. I'm a new user to Qimage, but I find it interesting that no one ever suggested having the ability to create a ring-around template to see how various edits to the same image look on paper. I could certainly work this up in PS, but was really hoping Qimage would allow me to set it up there.
Thanks for the help, though.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Applying Different Edits to Multiple Images
|
on: June 10, 2020, 08:47:57 PM

Let's say I tile 4 cells on one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper and add the same image to each cell. Is there a way to apply different edits to each individual cell? I was trying to do this earlier, but when I edit a single cell ALL the cells on the page now have that same edit. Are the edits linked because it's the same image, albeit 4 different times on the page?
Thank you for any help provided.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Printer Purge Sheets
|
on: June 05, 2020, 08:42:37 PM

Regarding setting up a Printer Purge cycle in Q-Ult, I've always heard that Epson printers should be turned OFF because, otherwise, the print heads can dry out when not parked. Canon, on the other hand, recommends leaving their printers turned ON. I have both an Epson R2880 and a Canon PRO-100. I'm concerned about leaving the Epson printer turned on all the time in order to run a purge schedule; the Canon should be fine. What do all you folks with Epson printers do?
Thanks!
