2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Downloaded files. on: June 22, 2016, 05:24:53 PM
Hello all,
Each time I download the latest version of Qimage Ultimate I save the file and then go to my Downloads to open and install this version. All of the prior downloaded updates appear here. After downloading the current version is it safe for me to delete the prior downloads from this file? I have attached a screenshot of the file I'm asking about.
Thanks in advance...cheers...Bruce Sr

Hello all,

This morning, during a full virus scan, my AV program detected 38 infection elements. All were contained in c:\programdata\ddisoftware\qimage\log. The infection was named "Trojan.Win32.Meredrop". All the infected items were quarantined, processed and removed by the Stopzilla AV program. Has anyone else experienced a similar event? All were related to photo jobs done with photos emailed to my by a friend who asked me to print them for him. I took a "screen shot" of the Stopzilla page which is available as attachment.

Thanks for any light anyone can shed on this matter.

Cheers...Bruce Sr
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Cannot open file warning. on: June 25, 2013, 03:09:11 PM
Thanks again, Terry. I have successfully re-installed QU. (BIG SIGH OF RELIEF)! I checked a number of photo files and they all worked as advertised. The missing program image showed briefly as thumbs were loading (this PC is much faster than my old one) and loading was without any problem. I also checked the Qimage folder and the missing q.bmp line is in there (see attachment). Hopefully, all is A-OK now, thanks to you. Cheers...Bruce Sr,

Thanks Terry. I assume you mean for me to re-install Q Ultimate. Aside from turning off my antivirus program, is there anything else you might suggest. I also assume I go to ddisoftware to initiate the re-install and that the user and password I got from Mike will do the trick. I don't plan to initiate any of these actions until I'm sure I have it right. Bruce Sr.
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Cannot open file warning. on: June 25, 2013, 06:22:20 AM
I stand corrected. I had a similar problem in 2009 in Q studio. Apparently the cure at that time was to uninstall and re-install Studio. I hope that's not required for this situation. Bruce Sr.
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Cannot open file warning. on: June 25, 2013, 05:22:36 AM
I am getting a warning (see attachment) when i click on some of my photo files. The images show up ok as thumbs and they seem to process ok. I have never seen this warning in many years of using Q Studio. I did a search but could not find any posts dealing with this particular item. I have a LOT TO LEARN about QU. Thanks for any answers you may have. Bruce Sr
9  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: QU and Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit version. on: June 24, 2013, 04:54:45 PM
Thanks for the welcome and the help. I have not uninstalled Q-Studio. Should I go ahead with uninstall? Thanks. Bruce Sr.
10  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / QU and Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit version. on: June 24, 2013, 07:28:12 AM
I've finally purchased QU after using Studio version for a long time. My PC is a Dell XPS 8500 operating Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit. Does QU automatically configure itself to 64 bit, or does it matter? My two printers are an Epson Stylus Photo R220 and an Epson Artisan 837. How do I establish profiles for them in QU? Or is this done by QU automatically. I have printed two photos using the R220 and everything appears to be working OK. I have a lot of learning to do starting with the Video Learning Center. Thanks. My new PC has Win7, 64 bit. Where can I get info on how to establish Qimage Studio on this PC from my current Windows XP, 32 bit. Or should I start clean with Qimage Ultimate? I have my Registered user name and unlock code but do I e-mail DDI for a download password and user name? My new PC should be here on April 8 but I won't be setting up right away. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Bruce.

Thanks again. The uninstall was complete. The reinstall worked fine. Both were done with my anti-virus program off, as you suggested. Now, the current edition of Qimage SE is on the "C" drive and there is no reference to Q on the "E" drive. It appears that Q is working fine. I think that puts a wrap on my little problem. Cheers. Bruce Sr.

Thanks for the answer. Both the desktop shortcut and the start menu take me to the "C" drive Qimage program. I guess all I need to re-install is the user name and password I got from Mike in July, 2009 and my Studio Edition registered user name and the unlock code that came in the same e-mail. If that is OK please let me know and I'll do the uninstall/reinstall in the morning. Thanks. Bruce Sr. P.S. Your Pbase galleries are wonderful. Takes us back to five great years in England in the early 60's. Cheers.

Hi again Terry, Here is the second screen shot (E:\Program Files\Qimage).

Terry, I discovered I have Qimage SE on both my C drive and my E drive. This probably happened when one of my drives failed and new hard drive was inserted and programs downloaded by the Computer repair Tech. I have made screen shots of both file lists and they are quite different. I'll try to attach them in legible form and maybe that would help to figure out what steps I should take to get myself sorted out. I am very reluctant to uninstall Qimage SE until I'm sure I can re-install it OK. The first attachment is for C:\Program Files\Qimage. The second one will be for E:\Program Files\Qimage. Thanks. Bruce Sr.
