Thank you for the quick replies.

The sorting button did the trick. I wasn't even aware of that button. Embarrassed
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Order of images in a job on: March 26, 2023, 02:54:23 PM
This may have been covered somewhere, but I could not find it, so here is my question.

When printing a number of images (for an exposition), I created a job with 12 images. All of these have to be printed 200x200 mm with an inner border of 5 mm. 2 images on 1 A-3 sized sheet. All went well and I saved the job.

Next I recalled the job and wanted to add some images to the job. Until very recently, these new images were added to the end of the job, therefore leaving alone the order of the images in this job as it was until then. But in some peculiar way, new images are now inserted at a somewhat random place/order into the existing job. Somewhere between the already present images or at the very beginning of the job, some at the end. As a result: each of the A3 pages now contains other images then before. So before adding the new images: images A and B would be on page 1, images C and D on page 2 of the job and so on. After adding the new images page 1 now has image Z and A, page 2 has B and C. In other words: all pages changed.

Am I missing some hidden feature? Is there a way to manually change the order of images in a job?

Thank you again; this did the trick.

By the way: thank you also for the very instructive video on saving printer settings. Was not aware of this feature but will use it a lot.

Thanks for the swift reply. But how can the corner marks not be visible, since I have a white inner border around the actual image?

I'm a bit puzzled about corner marks and crop marks irt matts. Obviously, I don't fully understand the difference between crop marks and corner marks, when using a photo matt.

I use an image and have a white inner border for that image of 5 mm. When I turn any sort of cut mark to "on", I can see and print them. So far, so good.

Now I add a matt to this image with an oneven border of 200 mm on the left side (in order to punch holes there for a binding wire). Now only corner marks on the left side of the matt are visible (in the preview) and printable. Corner marks on the right hand side disappeared. The same is true for solid line, dashed line.

However, when I swith to guide lines, guide borders or crop marks, they all are visible and printable.

What am I missing here?
9  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Date and time of print on: May 11, 2021, 03:41:05 PM
I use this mainly for keeping track of exercising my printer (i.e.: when was the last "exercise"?).

But also for being able to find the date and time of a print I want to sell and have to bill that to a customer. In these cases, I'll print the date and time outside any crop-margins.

But how can I display/print the actual date and time of printing?
11  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Date and time of print on: May 11, 2021, 09:14:45 AM
I have a job saved. When I add floating text and choose to print date and time, it is not the actual date and time of the print, but of the date and time the job was saved.

Is there an easy method to print the date and time of the actual print in stead of the date and time of the job?

An how to save that in the job while it has to be updated every time I print the job.

First of all: I find the instruction videos on QImage very, very helpful. They’re very clear and help a lot, especially when you have a setup with 2 monitors.

However: I’m either overlooking a “search” function or it is not available. Once you’re in the right menu, the video button gives clear instructions. But, what if you want to do something/perform some special action but you don’t know which menu-option to use? So: is there any searchable index (like keywords, topics, etc.) on the video instruction system? If so: where to find it?

If it is not available, I would suggest that it would be very helpful to make one.

Dear Mike

Once again an example of outstanding service. And yes: we arrived at the end of this rather long journey. So far I never suspected that one could place templates on top of each other and then move them together. This is a really nice feature.

The second (smaller) template can be placed anywhere (not only centered) inside/on top of the larger template, I found out. And that is exactly what I wanted. My photoclub exposition has been work in progress, so I now decided that inside the 400 x 500 frame, the actual picture has to have 40 mm of margin at the top and both left and right sides. At the bottom there is some extra room for the name of the photographer and the club. Corner marks are clearly visible and can be used for easy cutting/trimming. We’re all set now for “production”.

You’ve made my day and one more time: thank you very much.
