Technical Discussions / Printers / Adding Bleed
|
on: August 18, 2021, 09:37:33 PM
|
Hi All,
I notice that when cut marks are selected, the image and cut marks are flush which makes for a delicate final trim. Is there a way to slightly increase the image bleed so that when performing the final trim, there is no "white space" visible? Or is the only option to import client files into Photoshop and then apply bleed, resave and process etc.? It would be wonderful if we could add bleed from within Qimage - is it possible?
Any guidance greatly appreciated.
Cheers, Vic

Technical Discussions / Printers / HP Z Size output Challenge
|

Hi Folks, I'm losing my mind and need some guidance here if possible. Here's the scenario I'm dealing with: I have two printers: HP Z5200 & HP Z6 Everything as far as drivers works perfectly on the HP Z5200, I can drop in a true 8"x10" and it will output exactly 8"x10". However, with the HP Z6 not so. The print constantly outputs smaller than 8"x10" and I cannot for the life of me figure out why it's doing this?!? On the HP Z6 in the QI dashboard, only the smaller sizes below 5x7 are available to print at exactly the correct sizes, but all sizes above 8x10 are asterix *8x10 and not available...what do i need to do to enable full usage of all sizes available? Reason I ask is because both printers are 44" wide, but only the HP Z5200 is allowing me full size usage in QI... Both drivers are the V4 version of the HP drivers available, I have tried copying every setting that exists in the HP Z5200 into the properties of the HP Z6 - but cannot get the files to print true to their original size - can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm at a loss, don't have any more hair to pull out and would be graciously thankful for any pointers from any Gurus in here that have had similar challenges in this regard. Thanks in advance Vic

Hi Folks,
Does anyone know if Mike is available and responding to messages? I'm new to Qimage and the forum, so if the delays are a norm, I apologize in advance for asking.
Have a great day all!
Vic

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / More Hot Folder Options
|
on: April 19, 2021, 04:39:29 PM

Hi Mike,
A significant wish would be to add the ability within the hotfolder setup to switch between (turn hotfolders on/off defined by workflow requirements) hotfolders to printers pre-loaded with pre-defined stock/template layouts.
Best, Vic

Technical Discussions / Printers / Re: HP & Qimage Auto Roll Challenge

Hi Mike,
Thank you for clarifying - makes sense now, but a bit silly on HP's part. So for my HP workflow, I will need to define a custom size in the driver, which is leading right into my next question, which I'll search through the forum and see if there's feedback on the topic of assigning hotfolders to each custom layout, and have orders push to the designated folders for imposition and then push layouts to print.
Thank you for providing an awesome platform, this is amazing!
Cheers, Vic

Technical Discussions / Printers / HP & Qimage Auto Roll Challenge
|
on: April 07, 2021, 11:04:47 PM
|
Hi Folks,
I just joined today, so forgive me if this has already been covered. I did watch the video in the tutorials, and saw that some HP devices will not allow for "user defined" option in terms of allowing the "auto roll" feature. One of my HP devices does allow it, and that's fantastic because I get to save on the custom size white space issue if I don't fill a full custom sheet layout. My question: is there a work-around for the auto roll feature in an HP printer that doesn't support the Qimage auto roll function?
Looking forward to any feedback that can help point me in the right direction.
Many thanks, vicjay
