Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Qimage error on startup

Thanks for your reply, Mike. While you were replying, I was doing some more searching through the forums and found the post "Qimage Ultimate won't start under Windows 11' from NAwlins Contrarian that contained the fix, namely, fix the registry.
As you suspected, my registry was not getting updated to set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ddisoftware\Qimage-U\AppFolder. After I used RegEdit to create that key and set it to my specified Application Data Location, Qimage opened up successfully.
I hope this discussion is helpful to others.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Qimage error on startup

Thanks for your reply, Mike. I re-installed specifying F:\Users\Jeff\Qimage as the Application Data Location. When I launch Qimage, I get the same error popup:
Qimage is unable to write to the folder: C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage
I am not specifying the directory C:\ProgramData in either of the two places the installer gives me a choice for specifying a directory, so I presume Qimage has made this directory choice on its own.
Is there anything else I can try? I have tried all this with the AV software disabled.
Thanks, Jeff

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Qimage error on startup

Hi:
I just downloaded the Qimage Ultimate trial today (qutrial24-100.exe) and have not yet been able to get it to run. Upon starting, I immediately get the error: Qimage is unable to write to the folder: C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage\.
I have seen previous posts that mentioning the 3 things that can cause such problems (AV software, installing in an admin account but running from a limited account, installing the software to a directory the limited account does not have access to) and I believe I have avoided all those things (turned off Emsisoft AV software, installed from my limited account, set the Application Data Directory under %APPDATA%).
I have attached screen shots showing my installation. I am hoping someone can offer suggestions as to how to get the software installed correctly.
Thanks!
