That fixed it, thanks!
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / paths for print queue change on: May 10, 2022, 05:38:28 AM
I don't recall this happening in previous versions, but I just saved a job I printed, and saw that the path to images in the Print Queue changed from the original location
C:\Users\[name]\Documents\subfolder1\subfolder2\subfolder3\subfolder4\[filename.tif]dimensions
to
C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage\Plugins\Export\2022-05-09 21.37.19 [Files]\[filename.tif],dimensions
and the image file is duplicated here.

Now I notice this option in Preferences: "When images are dropped into Qimage Ultimate", what must be a default was checked: "Create Copies in New Export Folder" instead of "View in Thumbnails" or "Add to Queue".
I'm assuming that selecting "Add to Queue" will solve this issue, yes? (And that the path change was occuring with images "dropped" into Qimage Ultimate i.e. dragged from a Windows File Explorer window.)

Thanks ;-)

Thanks very much!

I'm about to upgrade to a new desktop PC (Windows 10) & wonder what you might recommend for video cards for Qimage Ultimate? (I also use QuarkXPress, 2020, CS5 Standard Design, and FontExplorerX Pro.) Any tips appreciated - thanks!

Thanks, Ernst, I'll check this out.

Thanks - I wonder if installing utilities like Epson's LFP Remote Panel when I installed the E4880 might have affected the installed driver for the E4800.
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: v2020.115 issues/comments on: March 04, 2020, 10:37:03 PM
Thanks, Mel. The issue exists in my previous version, too, which tells me I've somehow messed up my Epson 4800 driver and that the new Qimage version is not the culprit :-o
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: v2020.115 issues/comments on: March 04, 2020, 08:00:23 PM
I just updated to version 2020.115 and suddenly my saved jobs are not displaying correctly, e.g. an 13.78 × 11 inch image on 17 × 14 inch roll paper shows a portion of the image on a letter size sheet. This might be due to something I did yesterday (see below), but I'm uncertain...

If I go to my Control Panel and change the Epson 4800 printer driver preferences for the paper settings from letter size to 17 × 14 inch roll paper, the correct preview format comes back, and below Qimage's "Media Size" (Printer/Settings) the dimensions have changed back from letter size to W: 17.23 and L: 14. However, I have to resize my image and place it where I had it before, which slows down my workflow.

It's possible that when I installed a second Epson printer (4880) yesterday, when checking the 4800's Properties & Preferences so I could mirror them on the 4880, I somehow reset the 4800's Paper Settings in a way that affected Qimage. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I thought that the Paper Settings could be set one way (e.g. Letter Size) in the printer driver, but controlled by Qimage and saved with each job. Did that change, or have I misunderstood this all along?

If I've had it wrong, what are the recommended Paper Settings for a printer that I use to print on letter size sheets for many jobs, and various saved (User Defined) 17" wide roll paper jobs for other jobs?
Thanks.

9  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Scaling without constraining proportions on: December 16, 2019, 11:48:04 PM
Thanks, Fred. I was indeed looking for intentional distortion without cropping, similar to being able to Uncheck "Constrain Proportions" in the Image Size dialogue of Photoshop. I guess that's where I'll have to go to achieve my goal here ;-)
10  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Scaling without constraining proportions on: December 16, 2019, 09:14:24 PM
Sorry to ask what may be blatantly obvious, but ... for the 12 years I've been using Qimage/Ultimate, I've always printed files I had sized and cropped in Photoshop and saved as TIFFs before bringing into Qimage/Ultimate. Now I'd like to print a sheet of 3.5" × 5.5" images to cut and mount on folded card stock, but Qimage scales my image to 3.5" × 4.67". I haven't found a way to change the aspect ratio, i.e. scale my image without constraining its proportions/aspect ratio. Because it's an abstract image, some distortion is acceptable; I don't want to crop the image. Is there a way to freely scale an image?

Ah yes, the driver is the critical element - thanks, Fred!

My question may reveal my ignorance of colour management ;-)
For over 10 years now I've been using Qimage Ultimate (& Qimage before it) successfully with custom Epson and Hahnemühle profiles from Andrew Rodney's Digital Dog. Great results, thanks!
I am preparing to upgrade my desktop computer from Windows 7 64 bit Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Will I need to obtain new paper profiles?
Thanks.

13  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Recent Jobs disappeared from Recall list on: October 01, 2018, 05:38:22 PM
Not sure how this happened, but it took place after my most recent upgrade to v2018.125. I had launched Qimage Ultimate, recalled and printed a Job which printed normally, deleted an older version of a different format of that job using a legacy printer, then went to Recall another Job to print and that's when I first couldn't see my Jobs saved from the last 4 years. I guess that's when the path changed. Anyway, I now know where I can look if this happens again. Thanks.
14  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Recent Jobs disappeared from Recall list on: October 01, 2018, 01:42:41 AM
Mystery solved: I did a search of my C drive and found some of my Job files from the past 4 years located in C:\Users\Public\ddisoftware\Qimage\Save. Changed the path in Recall and there they are.
Somehow Qimage had launched with the path C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage\Save which only had older jobs with a legacy printer. Whew.
Thanks for the encouragement and patience, Fred and Mel!
15  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Recent Jobs disappeared from Recall list on: September 30, 2018, 09:28:54 PM
Thanks, Fred & Mel. I use a current version of Malwarebytes and there are no Job files quarantined in its folders; none showing up in my Recycle bin.
The good news is that the Automated Job Log reveals them, and if I change directories so that Recall opens via C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage\Log, they show up there, too. Dates seem correct. They just don't have the file names I had assigned, which makes accessing them a bit of a chore - I'll have to search through thumbnails instead of file names.
I suppose I can resave and rename all of them as needed, but I wish there was a way to get them back.
