1  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Re: Flash Pipe Feature Requests on: October 14, 2009, 02:38:14 AM
This request may be scary, but I would like a way to erase (format) my cards.
I have the Delkin 8 port reader which combined with FP has allowed me to go to bed after 12-16 hour shoots with my cards downloaded and backed up.
I can't tell you how much I love this program.
However, it would also be great to be able to format the cards when I'm ready for the next shoot. I erase cards before I leave the studio so that I don't need to worry about placing a card in the camera that has images that I just shot, and than formatting on site. All the cards in my card wallet are clean before each job.
If I could tell FP to format those 8 cards it would be another big time saver. (Yes I do confirm downloads before reformatting)

Thanks!

2  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Flashpipe What a great tool. on: September 27, 2009, 02:07:29 PM
I can't thank you enough for Flashpipe. It's a really great tool that meets my needs.
I'm a professional photog and after shooting weddings and other events need to download anywhere from 1200-4000 images from my own cameras and those of my associates.
I might come home from a wedding at 2AM and than spend time downloading images before my next day of meetings.
I also rename my photos to the date time stamp. This should be a simple task in Adobe bridge or Lightroom, but because of memory mismanagement neither program does a good job of renaming and a very simple task was a real time killer. For example Adobe Bridge CS3 would rename some files correctly and than start renaming all files to the date and time of the computer when the operation was performed. A memory issue Adobe never bothered to fix from what I understand. Renaming files in Lightroom will sometimes work but more frequently abort saying a file can't be renamed and than I need to spend time to rename them in misc sized batches until they are all done.

Last night, I threw eight cards into my new Delkin 8 slot card reader, started your program and went to bed. This morning it's all downloaded and renamed. Many thanks. I've been a fan of Qimage for years and once again you've hit a home run.

Thanks
Don Harper
