1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Some grumbling going on over here... on: July 28, 2010, 09:19:46 PM
Hi Mike
I am a studio user and have printed very little over the years as the cost of home printing is too prohibitive when compared to costco and other low cost outfits .I definitely bought the program because of the superb offer of free updates and the quality of prints i was able to produce when i tried the program.I upgraded to studio as a way to support your hard work its been a number of years since i printed anything at home, however i may change and start printing more at home in the future also another reason to get the upgrade. I bought flashpipe also because i wanted to support you, i also have and was using downloader pro.So i have spent albeit a small amount of additional money with your company that i would not have spent if it weren't for your Qimage free update policy. I certainly understand and support your need to have a continual revenue from your software development we can all gain from that, and your software is reasonably priced with the added benefit of a very reasonable upgrade price. I wish you success with your new product however i will not be purchasing it at this time as i already use adobe and apple products for my Raw conversions and have been using them since their inception.I must admit i have never used studio to do a conversion but i do use flashpipe to get some jpegs for viewing purposes on a pc with acdsee as it is much quicker viewing jpegs than raw files.I will continue to support flashpipe although while on the subject i would love to see a way of stopping or canceling a transfer. I post this only for you to get an insight of reasons users have used your software, i am a fan of your imaging programs.

Hi Paul
Sorry to hear you are having the same problem i still do not know why it happens but my Laptop is a Dell 700m about 5 years old now,i upgraded the hard drive and reinstalled everything from scratch it still has windows xp with service pack 3 on it and i tried 4 browsers without any success i am surprised that i have the problem on the xp operating system i thought it was an issue only with win 7 and the Quad processor
If i use either of my macs i can download with Safari browser at my home. I was in a hotel with the dell and have not tried at home yet,i think it has to be a setting but possibly not in the browser
I tried googling the error but no answer was found
I did have a problem like this with outlook web access and Explorer that i had to put domain/ in front of the user name but with a different browser i did not have the problem it just worked

Hi Fred
I have a bad habit of keeping my images on the card as a backup in case i lose my images somehow so i have 3 copies at a time. When i put the card in the canon i didn't know it had Nikon files on it,however i have copied the canon files to my desktop and it appears that one of the Nikon files is causing the flashpipe  error only part of the file transfers. I can use acdsee to open the file if i remove the card after flashpipe freezes i am out of the country for the week now so it will have to wait till i get back.i tried to run the sandisk program prior to posting but it too freezes. So i do not understand how acdsee can access the file and display it if the other programs freeze but it gives me hope that i can copy the card to my desktop and try flashpipe from there
incidentally the canon files went straight into the Nikon folder. When i originally tried to download the card i got a wrong volume in drive error i do not get that error now
Thanks for your help if i need to try the program i will give you a shout
10  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / flashpipe freezes on: December 26, 2009, 06:11:45 AM
i did a lot of uploading from cards today and received errors only on 2 cards this particular card was transferring then froze on one imagemultiple times,i was able to get the 2 other direcories on the card finished by selecting them as the source but not the last directory.I have canon and nikon files on this card in this directory i do not normally do this but had no other card and did not want to format it.I can view the card with acdsee ok but the last 2 raw and jpegs do not display they are canon files.when i look at the directory with the copied files i only have nikon files and not all of them have copied.it copies only part of the last file and that is where flashpipe freezes. acdsee displays the thumbnail but the image is too small file size so not all of it copied.i have retried several times always with the same result.i think if i could skip this file i could get the other files but that is not an option i can view it on the card in acdsee and the file opens although when flashpipe freezes i cannot view it in acdsee because acdsee freezes too
What to do?
