1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / suggestions regarding job log on: July 01, 2019, 07:44:18 AM
Hi Mike,
first let me tell you again how much I appreciate your program and your work! I've been a happy user since 2005.

I think I have alrerady suggested this in the past:
Please make the job log remember my last exit settings!
I.e. I always want my jobs sorted by file date descending but every time I open it it is sorted by file name descending.

Second: Wouldn't it be nice if the manual file naming would make automated suggestions when you start to type a job name.
I.e I always start my job names with a client abbreviation like "UM_<name of artwork>" Now when I have a new job I'd really like to get suggestions from the programm with previously used job names that start like what I am typing, so I could click on one, take that as a suggestion and edit it further to my liking.

Please implement these features. They would make life so much easier for me and certainly for others as well!

Keep up the good work.

Kind regards, Ralph from Cologne, Germany
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Qimage Ultimate crashes on: June 05, 2018, 09:35:58 AM
Hi Fred,
re-downloading and re-installation of the driver really helped.

No more crashes for now!

Thank you for your support.

Best wishes, Ralph
3  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Qimage Ultimate crashes on: June 05, 2018, 09:00:36 AM
Hi all,
I've been running Qimage successfully since 2006 without any major glitches. Thank you for the great work you do Mike!

But since 2018.116 and now .117 I cannot finish one print job without Qimage crashing. I'm on a Windows10 machine with an Epson Stylus Pro 4800, a real workhorse. The Epson driver was updated to its recent one 6.62 in 2016 so can be ruled out.

I get various screen popüps from Qimage ranging from "Invalid printer" to "Unable to insert a line". Windows tells me on restart that there was an error "15-run" but even if I start in Safe mode it crashes. Funny thing is, every once in awhile the unclog can be printed with out prior crashes...

Any experiences with this behavior?

Kind regards, Ralph from Cologne, Germany
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / A few suggestions to improve the Auto Job Log on: February 11, 2018, 01:15:07 PM
Hi,
I am using the Auto Job Log regularly to find jobs of clients or projects.

It would be really great if the job log would

a) by default be sorted by job date descending (newest jobs first)

b) remember my settings for sort order AND pop up window size

c) get a keyboard short cut

Thank you very much, Mike for a fabulous program.

Kind regards, Ralph
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Job Naming with Auto Fill from existing Job Log on: February 11, 2018, 01:05:05 PM
Hi,
I think it would be a great feature to have if I would get "suggestions" from the Job Log when entering a new job name.

I usually start my jobs with either the client name or a project name. I have many repeated jobs in which only a few characters change i.e. of the image no. at the end of the job.

The way the job naming is implemented now I have a lot of errors with small mistypes. All those would be gone if there'd be an auto fill function of some kind. Maybe even with a list of jobs that match the characters I've typed...

Thank you Mike, for an otherwise fabulous program!

Kind regards,
Ralph
6  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Centering a group of Photographs <SOLVED> on: December 02, 2013, 09:57:17 PM
Hi Terry,
thank you very much for this easy solution. Don't get me wrong, Qi is and has been my favorite print solution for years. I am very happy with Mike's work and have learned a lot from you and others in this fabulous forum. Maybe I was just a little bit frustrated once again with myself because I have tried to resolve this problem so many times and have always failed.

No offence meant at no time.

Keep up the great work, Ralph
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Centering a group of Photographs on: December 02, 2013, 07:48:24 PM
Hi Fred,
thank you for jumping in. Ah your way is easy and can be achievesd with the little placement options button below the preview.
I want to minimize cuts so I am pushing them in close together. I only need edges at the outside. see image
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Centering a group of Photographs on: December 02, 2013, 07:06:38 PM
What I still haven't managed after 6 years of using several versions of qi without breaking my mouse finger and a lot of cursing is to center a group of images on a page! All Photos are like 4x6" on a sheet of 17x22" (13 fit) and i want to print edges. When I choose optimal spacing they're all pushed to the top left corner and there are no top and left edges any more. I have succeeded in manually moving the whole lot inwards, but then when I want to print the next sheet with new Photos it pops back again and I have to start over. This is annoying and I am very po'ed that even in Ultimate there still is no enhancement of the print spacing/handling.

Could anyone please shove me in the right direction in case it's a user error
9  Mike's Software / Qimage / floating text: more than one font size per box? on: December 14, 2009, 09:20:10 AM
hi there,
i've been a happy user of qimage for several years. but every now and then i come across a challenge with this wonderful program.

i usually print some annotations on the back off my greeting cards. now a client allowed me to put a little text ad on the cards i print for him.

i would like to print a line "reproduction & print by..." in the floating text box but with a smaller font size than the client's annotations.

i have not found out yet, how to either put 2 floating boxes on one print page (which would also help with challenges like putting one line horizontal and the another one vertical)

or to have more than one font size within one floating box.

can anyone help?

kind regards, ralph from cologne, germany
