1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Where is the full set of instructions for your software? on: September 21, 2021, 04:12:14 PM
There seems to be no link via Ultimate or online to find a full instruction set for the software. I'm sure there used to be...Huh?
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / How do I print a test chart without colour management? on: May 18, 2020, 11:28:42 AM
I am sure there was this feature. How can I print a test chart for scanning with my Pulse Spectrometer ?

Except you dont have to click so many times in studio. If you keep the print size box always open, like i do.

I can assure you Breezebrowser does it.

Yes I realise that but why can;t that darned box stay open? It flies out covers the so called Live view preview that's supposedly much easier to see now its bigger then you have to click it to hide it and so on with every change in size you want to make.

Thanks. Just not so easy if, like me, you have a variety of photos that you are working through one at a time that you want different sized prints off.
So the answer is obviously No. I'm stuck with that UI.

What's thanks giving?

I am having to use Ultimate over Studio edition becuase something seems to be broken with my profile in Studio. However I much prefer the UI of Studio in the setting of print size and borders etc. The Print properties box you have to click on evrytimte whereas it is constant in Studio. Then you have to go to another tab called settings in Ultimate, whereas it was all there in Studio.
Is there any way to force Ultimate to use the same UI? If not can I put in a request to do so?
I am finding Ultimate much slower.
Thanks

John

Thanks Mike that's very helpful.
Do you know whether I need to set Roll paper to Banner (whatever that means)?
Thanks Fred for the reminder.

Oh really I need Windows 10? That's odd. I can load up several versions of other programs such as BreezeBrowser on my Win 7.
I really don;t want to upgrade Win 7 which is working so well. I predict a fist full of headaches.
10  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: How do I print onto roll paper? on: November 23, 2016, 10:00:23 PM
Thanks. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do the maths. If I've got a load of various sized prints that would be a step I'd rather not take. What happens if I load up lots of images? One of the settings is 24x36" if I set it to Roll Paper (Banner) won't it just continue after 36" - presumably with a bit of a gap?

Haha. I understand. I am not complaining at Studio which is admitedly out of date. It just worked fine for me for years and I prefer being able to see the print settings without having to click on tabs.
I cannot launch two versions at once on my machine - win 7 Pro.

How would I set up Ultimate to nest images onto roll paper? I have a 24" roll in an Epson 7880.
How do I set it up so that images are nested (placed) continuously along the length of the roll? Or does it just print "pages" of the 24" width?

As Studio seems to be broken with my profiles is there any way I can launch two versions of Ultimate?
14  Mike's Software / Qimage Studio Edition (archived) / Re: Creating custom profiles on: November 23, 2016, 08:56:10 PM
Thanks, but I completely understand where he is coming from. He says the printer paper settings are quite arbitrary and have nothing to do with the actual paper, other than the fact that they lay down a bit more or less ink. He tells me they are a marketing ploy. It is the profile that is important.
None of this explains to me one jot why the same profile and papers work with Ultimate and not with Studio. It's a real pity because I hate the UI of Ultimate.
15  Mike's Software / Qimage Studio Edition (archived) / Re: Creating custom profiles on: November 23, 2016, 04:39:10 PM
That is correct. My profiling guru has chosen the glossy setting (as opposed to the lustre one) that I printed a test chart with as the one exhibiting the best result - even though I am using Lustre paper.
Anyway it still doesn't explain why as I am using the same profile in each of Studio and Ultimate that I am getting different results. Especially as other profiles I had done previously are fine on Studio !?!!?
