Mike's Software / Qimage / Re: Gallery wrap question

I worked out my own need in PhotoShop. :-) It really wasn't hard to do at all, just took a little time to make a selection of part each edge, move it to the edge, and then flip it to mirror the painting.
Again, thanks for the suggestions. I had my credit card in hand this morning to buy an action, but it wasn't necessary after all.
Happy weekend to all, Betty

Mike's Software / Qimage / Gallery wrap question
|

Please forgive me but this question is a bit off topic. I have completed an 16 x 20 painting and now need to increase it's size 2 inches for a gallery wrap canvas. I don't print these myself, but the file goes to my printer.
Any suggestions on how to mirrow those additional 2 inches? I've tried cloning, selection and new layer, but not really happy with the results. Could QI (studio) do this and let me save it as another file with the new size of 18 x 22? Baring that, anyone got any suggestions, or a good action?
Many thanks, Betty

Hi Ray, Just saw your post. Sorry for the delay I had to abandon my PP efforts as I had dog shows to photograph. I'm still working on all the roads that takes me on as I do digital paintings also. But, I WILL return to PP when the decks clear again. And no doubt I'll have more questions.
Thanks for the check in! Betty

Fred, here is a screen print of the full page editor of the 10x6.75 sized file. Per the rulers in the full page editor it is showing 10x7.5 size. Could this be the problem? Why is this size different? How can I correct it? The file is 10x6.75 in Photoshop.
Thanks again, Betty

When I print the top of the flowers/painting is cut off. It looks like there is plenty of room but when it is printed, the top edge is cut off.
I've been spinning my wheels here and changing settings, and now have a red 2x2 on top if the page to print in the print q. How can I get rid of that?

Excuse me, if this has already came through, but I don't think it did. Earlier this week I set up 2 cards in photoshop, 10x6.75, to fit paper and envelopes. I set up 1 horizinal and one veritical. I went into QI and printed both beautifully. I even saved the job settings to recall in QI. This morning I tried setting up another card in PhotoShop, by just overlaying a new painting over the previous one in a new layer. Now every one prints with the top of the painting cut off, even the cards that printed beautifully earlier in the week. I've tried fit to page, and original size, as well as the custom size 10x6.75 set up earlier that worked before. I've also tried crop on and off. I've exhausted myself and my limited knowledge. Could some please check out the screen print sent seperately, and help me find out what dumb thing I have done??
Many thanks, Betty

Mike's Software / Qimage / I LOVE QI
|

This weekend, I was the show photographer for a couple of dog show speciality shows. I finished all of my win show shots last night for both days. I shoot RAW and do corrections/adjustments with PhotoShop. With QI, I can load images in the Q, walk away, and come back to consistently great photos. I have used QI several years, but have barely scratched the surface as to what it can do. I've learned enough to get what I need done. Someday I hope to be a student of it, but for now it makes my photo printing, and life in general around this beloved hobby, consistently simplier with predictable results.
I have still not completed the PP leg of my journey, but I swear I think my results are better after just reading the PP directions and trying them over a period of several weeks. At least I think those directions finally gave me better clues how to turn off my color management and let the "Q" lead the color direction. No real point to this, just feeling very grateful for this key part of something I love to do.
Best to all, Betty

Thanks so much for the answer. It surely looks like you did a good job on your glare situation. I remember somewhere a tutorial or an action for PhotoShop that did a nice job and was a quick correction for a glare problem. I'll likely never find it.
Thanks again, Betty

This may not be the appropriate place to ask, but here is a question. I took a rather important picture over the weekend at a cocker speciality show of an elderly gentleman and his beloved dog. I bounced the flash, had him tilt his head slightly, but still got some eye glass glare. Any suggestions on removing it? I am fairly proficient with PhotoShop.
Many thanks, Betty

Hi Fred, Hope you are ok!! Sorry to hear you were in the hospital. Please take good care of yourself! Selfishly, I'll be picking back up trying to use PP soon, and I hope you are in great shape! Life has pulled me in other directions this past week, but I'll be back trying again soon.
Betty.
