I don't see this file:  \programdata\ddisoftware\qimage\Log\{Q} Last Exit.jss
Both of the following have old date/time stamp:
 \programdata\ddisoftware\qimage\icm.ini
 \programdata\ddisoftware\qimage\sizes.ini

Hope that helps,

Steve

Thanks Mike and Fred.

I'm running Vista 64 and have Norton 360.  I've cold started, reinstalled Qimage with same results.  I've turned off anti-virus and reinstalled - same results.  I downloaded a new copy of Qimage 2014.101 and installed it with AV off and same results.  I found something new though.  If I go to the file menu and click on exit without saving settings, I'm able to close Qimage.  Does Q 2014 save settings in a different location from previous versions?

Thanks again,

Steve

That's can't shut it down....
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: v2014.101 issues/comments on: July 29, 2013, 12:41:21 AM
I just upgraded to Q 2014.101 - I really like the new look.  Only problem is I can shut it down.  When I click on the "X" to close Qimage I get a "File access denied" error.  I get the same error trying to shut it down with "Task Manager".  I have to finally wait for the Windows message that "Qimage is not responding" before it will shutdown with Task Manager.  This is the first version of Qimage, going back many years, where I've experienced this.  I was just using Q 2013.125 today, before the upgrade.

Any ideas?

Hi All,

I just started getting the Subject error code in a directory of jpg images.  It's the first time I've ever seen it.  Anyone know what it means?

Qimage appears to be working fine.

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the input.  I've tried selecting a different default printer many times to no avail.

I've spent the morning troubleshooting and have gotten Qimage working again, at least for the moment.

This is what I did:
1.  I removed every trace of Qimage from the computer
2.  Deleted the network printer
3.  Reset the old S800 as the default printer
4.  Reinstalled the MX860
5.  Updated the drivers for the MX860
6.  Reinstalled Qimage
7.  Was able to start Qimage

I don't know why it worked or what I fixed this time, but for the time-being, Q works and I'm back in business.

Thanks for your help,

Steve

Hi Fred,

Yes I did everything as in January, including the Reset Printer.  Nothing has changed to my knowledge. Same driver, same everything. Can't figure this one out.

Well, I'm back in the same boat again, except nothing I do gets Qimage working.  I've deleted printers, installed printers, changed default printers, reinstalled drivers, deleted and reinstalled Qimage, all to no avail.  I'm pretty sure it has to do with the Canon MX860 network printer since I never had a problem with the old S800 that I use with Qimage exclusively.  The error is always the same this time:

Exception Eprinter in module Qimage.exe at 0003944E.
Operation not supported on selected printer.

I'd really like to get Qimage working again - I'm going through severe withdrawal and I've run out of ideas.

Fred,

You're a genius!  I reinstalled the new Canon driver, removed and reinstalled Qimage, this time Qimage started.  While I was going through all of the parameters, i.e., profiles, etc., I noticed that Qimage asked me if I wanted to use the printer properties that were in effect the last time I used that printer profile.  This time I made sure to answer no.  I then manually entered everything.  I quit Qimage and was able to restart it without any problems.  Hopefully this will continue.

Thanks again,

Steve

For the last couple of months whenever I started Qimage Studio Edition I would get the following error:

“Qimage was not shut down properly last session.
Since you are running Windows Vista, please be
Sure your Windows default printer has been
updated to the latest Vista compatible driver.
Incompatible printer drivers can cause lockups/crashes.

How would you like to start this session?”

I would select Normal start and everything was OK.  Occasionally, I would select reset, with the hope that things would get repaired.  The next start of Qimage I would get the same thing.

Last week I got the bright idea that maybe something got corrupted in Qimage and decided to delete everything and start from scratch with a new install.  After the reinstall when I tried to start Qimage I got the following series of error messages:

“Qimage was not shut down properly last session.
Since you are running Windows Vista, please be
Sure your Windows default printer has been
updated to the latest Vista compatible driver.
Incompatible printer drivers can cause lockups/crashes.

How would you like to start this session?”

RESET

“Are you sure…..”

YES

“Would you like to take the Qimage Quick Tutorial?.....”

NO

“Qimage.exe has stopped working.
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem…”

“Qimage.exe has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop
working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a
solution is available.”

“Exception eprinter in module Qimage.exe at 00038FDE
Operation not supported on selected printer.”

Following the instructions in the Qimage's Troubleshooting section, I downloaded and installed new drivers from Canon.  Qimage started working again!  Problem solved, or so I thought.

Today, I tried to start Qimage and I'm back to the same error messages.  I've tried to start Qimage in "safe mode" by holding down the shift key, to no avail.  I've changed default printers - no luck.  I'm not sure what else to try.

System info:

Vista 64 with all the latest updates
8GB Ram
Canon S800 and Canon MX860

Thanks in advance,

Steve

11  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Re: Filter Source Files on: September 11, 2009, 03:21:22 PM
I would like to select all the files on the memory card taken on say the 10th and put them in a folder labeled the 10th; take the files taken on the 9th and put them in a folder labeled the 9th and so on.

Thanks,

Steve

Is there a way to filter the source files (e.g. by date) and then put them in specific output files?  I may be in the field for several days away from my computer and then want to download files by date when I get back to my computer.

Thanks,

Steve
13  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Re: Application Error Installing Flashpipe on: September 09, 2009, 05:34:12 PM
Well, I just rebooted the computer.  Clicked on the Flashpipe Icon and it opened with no error message!  I've never had a problem installing any of the DDI Software Products - this is the first time and it apparently fixed itself.  Now that's service!

I just downloaded the full version of Flashpipe and tried to install it.  I got an error that indicated that "...Flashpipe.exe has stopped working..." When I clicked on the Flashpipe icon I get the following error:

"Application Error

Exception EInvalidPointer in Module Flashpipe.exe at 000049C9.
Invalid pointer operation."

Win Vista 64 SP2
