1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: System has to be Restarted When Updating to v2011.106? on: December 15, 2010, 01:41:19 PM
I just did another install of 106 but this time with everything closed, including my Chrome Browser, and all went well.  No restarting required.  Guess I'll have to make sure it's closed next time although I could have sworn it wasn't required before.

Thanks,

Tom

Mine is not opened, and is not a Qimage glitch.
My system just started doing that (Please reboot) thing, and it does it with older Qimage versions too,
I have some detective work to do.

I should have said I'm on Win 7 64bit.

Yes, Qimage was open when I installed.  I thought in the past if QI was open during the install it would automatically close. Perhaps not or maybe it was the old QI that did that.

That usually isn't required.

Right, will do.

Thanks Terry.

Many thanks for the unlock link.  All is well.

Just have to say that I've been away using Lightroom 3 and while it's good there's nothing as good as Qimage and Ultimate is even better than Studio.  I really wanted LR3 to be a one stop shop but I never could get my hands around their print module.  And Ultimate sharpening is really amazing.  I'll still use LR3 and need to refine my workflow incorporating Ultimate but for sharpening and printing nothing can touch Qimage.

Thanks Mike!

Just bought Ultimate and haven't received the unlock key yet (don't really expect it for a while). Since I have the trial going I uninstalled Qimage Studio but now when I start Ultimate I get the error message: C:\ProgramData\ddisoftware\Qimage\sRGB.icm couldn't be found.  Color space will default to sRGB.  I hit OK and it starts fine.  Was something deleted when I uninstalled Studio?

Thanks,

That's what I do.  I have a "for printing" folder to which I export the completed images from either Lightroom or Photoshop.  You can also set up Qimage as an external editor in Lightroom.  You do it in Preferences > External Editing tab.  Then in Library or Develop mode you can then go to Photo > Edit In and select Qimage.  It drops it right in the queue.
