1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Fixed: Printer Not Recognized on: September 07, 2021, 10:16:03 PM
FIXED: I reset all program settings and Poof! the Canon showed up.

******************************************************

I had to do a full clean-slate install of QImage using instructions provided by Mike.

QImage is not recognizing my Canon Pro-10. It does recognize my Brother printer.

The Pro-10 is connected via usb. I have installed the most recent printer driver. I have restarted my pc. No joy.

The Pro-10 is seen by other programs, including Lightroom and the Qimage One plug-in.

Suggestions for solving this problem are most welcome. TIA

2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Fixed:Multiple Problems: Can't edit and error messages. on: March 06, 2021, 08:24:51 PM
Mike: I did need to install into a new location. Seems to be working fine now.

When I update, will the program know where to look?

Thanks for your responsiveness.

I don't use a 3rd party AV - just the one that comes with Windows.

4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Multiple Problems: Can't edit and error messages. on: March 06, 2021, 03:42:44 PM
Hi - I have the following problems:

1. In every session I can only access the edit screen once. After that, nothing happens when I try to edit a photo.
2. When I save a job, I get a "list index out of bounds" error. Often I also get a session error message, screen shot attached.
3. When I close the program, I get an i/o error 123. I have to force a close.

I have the newest version of QImage Ultimate, downloaded and installed this morning.

I am running Windows 10 Pro, v2004, build 19041.804

I also run the scheduler to print an unclog page to my canon Pro-10. It runs normally.

These problems have persisted for awhile but I haven't been printing much so I haven't looked for a fix. Now, however, I have a project that I am having great difficulty completing.
TIA

Thanks, Mike. A reinstall fixed the problem.

6  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / redo.ses could not be saved on: January 21, 2020, 07:28:48 PM
Hi - just installed latest version, V2020.111

Every time I perform any action, such as adding a photo or selecting Print I get a message that redo.ses could not be saved. Other than this message, QU behaves normally. I just have to click OK on the error message box to close it. Solution?

Thanks, Linda
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Print size output not as shown in QImage on: March 08, 2015, 01:02:08 AM
Hi Fred -

I was using the old border+ feature and have not explored the mat feature at all.

I deleted the border and used the mat feature and all is well. I'm thinking that old border method could be retired - it will be for me for sure.

My printer driver was also set to "reduce/enlarge". Not sure how that happened. Good catch.

Thanks so much for your help! When I switched to a Mac environment, my only caveat was having the ability to use QImage - thus the use of an emulation program (Fusion).

Once in awhile I'll see if Lightroom or Photoshop have improved the printing process and come away horrified. I love each of them for organizing and editing but I don't know that anything would ever get printed around here if it not for QImage.

Have a good evening and thanks again for your guidance.

8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Print size output not as shown in QImage on: March 07, 2015, 04:14:30 PM
I sent this message to Mike a couple of days ago but he must be busy so I will also ask here:

I've used the program for many many years and never had problems till now.

I am trying to print two 5X5 images with .25 borders on one row at the top of 13 X 19 paper. I've done this before.

No matter what I do these images print at about 3.0 X 3.0 with a .25 outside border.

Everything looks fine including print preview and all settings. The custom size specs in the properties for each photo appear correct.

When I go to page layout, the paper size is correct and the individual prints show at the 5.5 X 5.5 size.

When I do a print preview via the printer driver everything looks fine - but the prints come out too small.

Do you have tips I can use for trouble shooting?

Not that it should matter but I am running QImage Ultimate under VMware Fusion on my Mac. Windows 7. QImage Build V2015.118

I am printing to an Epson Photo R2000, using custom print profiles from Red River. The only thing I've done recently is to calibrate my monitor under Windows with an i1Display Pro.

As I said I've had no problems till now.

Thanks for the help.

9  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: QU under Mac Parallels color management on: September 19, 2013, 01:01:16 AM
John - I just switched to a Mac and am running Windows under VMware Fusion so I could keep QImage for printing.

I ran into the same problem as you and never got an answer from a couple of forum posts (not here though). Then I realized I really don't have a problem.

My monitor is profiled and I edit in Lightroom. I save to a jpg or tiff or psd file for printing in QImage.

After a bit of testing I realized my prints were matching my Lightroom screen, so now I just  open QImage, choose the saved edited file, choose the appropriate paper profile and go.

I think because I am using the same monitor for both OS's there is no issue as long as I make my monitor profile the default profile.

This may or may not make sense to you - maybe I just got lucky. :-)

10  Technical Discussions / Articles / I have one of each on: September 29, 2009, 02:28:21 AM
Because of all the things discussed in Mike's article, I have a dye printer (Epson Artisan 700 with Claria inks), and an Epson R2400 which has pigments. I avoided the dye printers until the Claria inks came out. I'm a happy camper.  Smiley

The Artisan is wireless which particularly appealed to me since I don't have to tether it to the pc.

I also have a Picturemate which is a nice little machine.

Nice article, Mike.

Thanks, Fred. I have to record the time for a whole bunch of photos in conjunction with a class I am taking. Naturally I prefer to stay within QI for all the work.

Your suggested approach using the thumbs should work just fine - I just didn't want to open every pic in the batch filter screen.

I appreciate your reply.  Smiley

13  Mike's Software / Qimage Studio Edition (archived) / EXIF Bar Question on: August 31, 2009, 10:25:56 PM
Is it possible to choose what information can appear on the exif bar? I would like the time the photo was taken to appear.

Thanks,

LindaJ
