1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: What is 'Fill light'? on: December 02, 2022, 04:00:34 PM
Ahh! OK.

Then Fill light was about what I thought it was, but wasn't quite sure. Now I'm sure :-)

Thank you very much for the explanation Mike and Fred.
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / What is 'Fill light'? on: December 01, 2022, 06:16:22 PM
A very stupid question, yes I know, and that's because I've used Qimage for many, many years (and love it) and I'm therefore expected to know the answer myself.....but I don't :-)

And what I don't quite understand is: what exactly is 'Fill light'? When is this adjustment used? Is there something similar in, for example, Adobe Lightroom?

And no, English is not my mother tongue :-)
3  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Prints are a bit too dark. on: September 23, 2021, 05:31:20 PM
Warning! English is not my native language :-)

I have been using Qimage for 20 years ... at least :-) - and I will continue to use Qimage. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

My monitor has always been calibrated and I have created profiles for the papers I use with X-rite Colormunki Photo. The match between my monitor and prints has always been very, very good. My printer is a Canon Pixma Pro 100.

One year or so ago I had to buy a new PC and now the prints are a bit darker than what I see on the screen and I can not quite figure out why. I have calibrated my new monitor, of course, but I have not created new paper profiles. Do I have to create new paper profiles too? - or......?
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: v2018.101 issues/comments on: June 19, 2017, 03:22:27 PM
When I go to "Utilities" --> "Manage Plugin Exports" and delete things in there, I would also like to see these items "automagically" deleted from the history.

No big deal. Just a little "annoyance" :-)
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Happy New Year to all. on: January 02, 2016, 05:28:46 PM
Happy New Year to everyone!

I have used Qimage for many, many years and I will continue to support and use Qimage for years to come.
6  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: A Highlights slider as in Lightroom? on: May 30, 2015, 01:22:14 PM
Don't get me wrong ;-) I have used Qimage for years, and i will continue to do so. When it comes to quality output on paper, nothing beats Qimage.

There are, however, some "issues" with the interface of the program I (personally) would like to see changed into a more "modern" and easy to understand look.
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: A Highlights slider as in Lightroom? on: May 29, 2015, 06:55:31 AM
This slider is used to recover detail in the highlights of a photo. You will not be able to get detail out of completely blown out areas - there must be data there to recover for this slider to work.

A very useful tool.
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / A Highlights slider as in Lightroom? on: May 28, 2015, 05:19:08 PM
How can I 'mimic' the Highlights-slider in Lightroom?

Anything obvious I have overlooked?

Hello fellow QI Users  Smiley

How can I (if possible) mimic something similar to the Adobe Lightroom 'clarity' tool in QI - in order to give my images some extra punch and impact?
12  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: A bug with Instaview, or...? on: October 04, 2014, 03:15:12 PM
OK! Yes, I am using a Logitech mouse (MX518), but have not installed the Logitech mouse utility.

I will be looking through the mouse/driver options.

Thanks :-)

Hehe! :-) Hope so, Fred.

Enlish is not my native tongue, so I am often unable to state the problem clearly enough for you to be able to help me.
14  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: A bug with Instaview, or...? on: October 04, 2014, 12:17:55 PM
Yes, Fred, it does. The same thing happens here.
15  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / A bug with Instaview, or...? on: October 04, 2014, 11:40:24 AM
I think I have found a bug. Whether it is a bug in Qimage or not, I don't know, but one thing I do know, is that there is a bug....somewhere :-)

No big deal at all, but, anyone else seeing this, or is it only me? Using the latest and greatest Qimage Ultimate, and also the latest drivers for my graphic card.

When I first open Qimage, the instaview (middle mouse button or ENTER key) works just fine. However...

...if I go to "Refine Raw" (do not have to make any adjustments), and return back to the thumbnail view, the instaview doesn' work any longer. I have to restart Qimage to get it to work again.

Sorry that the text in the video doesn't turned out well :-(
