1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / qimage = blue sceen of death on: October 17, 2010, 08:13:04 PM
well finally got an image to be the right size and tried to print = blue screen of death. that's the only BSOD I've had since installing windows 7. tried again and same BSOD. and now since BSOD's the epson printer utility that chooses matte or glossy black ink will not work either when it was working fine this morning before the BSOD so we can't print out of PS or Corel either.

btw the BSOD that flashes by says something about the Nvidia driver but we never had any problem with that before trying to print out of Qimage

hmm just wondering since there is no cropping tool like PS where u just make the little box the size u want an click crop.....if I make the image full size in PS and crop down to say a 4x4 piece and print that, will it be equivalent to the same size crop in the qimage scissors method? trying to make a test strip of a panorama and it will only make a test in the same width/length proportion of the panorama (hope that is a clear description)

thanks for the welcome! sort of a slash n burn printer here, just drag the images until they reach the size I want and print in PS or corel. using big files usually so results are generally just fine. I'm sizing for final image and framing usually. looking forward to my first big print with qimage as soon as a I can accurately dictate final printed image size.
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / resize images in preview pane/qimage? on: October 16, 2010, 12:22:31 AM
hello,

sized a pic in PS at exactly 12x36" and when I open in preview pane it is only 8.4x25.3. to make it bigger I have to drag the corners and that is not accurate enough to get the pic up to exactly 12x36. tried editing the image in various screens by changing the sizes in various boxes but they don't change anything. the image size has to be exact or it will not fit a frame. so how does one resize images to get an exact size in both dimensions? thanks!

thanks, tried the test strip function and figured it our enough to use. the final test image looked a bit pixelated on the screen but printed fine.
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / put a panorama in the preview window? on: October 15, 2010, 11:18:23 PM
hi,

tried to set up the preview pane for a 17x26 page size and couldn't figure out how to do that so I went in the printer driver and set that up. voila, the preview box was 17x26. then I found my panorama and double clicked on it and it opened a window showing the entire panorama. closed that and next I dragged the panorama thumb from the folder onto the page and NO whole panorama, only the thumb preview. How to have the entire panorama (or any image) show on the preview window so I can size/move the image for optimum placement, and not just the thumbnail?
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / question about enlarged image and quality.... on: October 15, 2010, 12:01:37 AM
hello,

If I keep enlarging an image in corel or PS until It starts to look pixelated is that a good guide as to how big I can print it?
For example if I take an image and size it visually at 16x24 it looks good, if I enlarge it to 32x28, still looks great,  doesnt start to look pixelated until its up to 64x56 which is way bigger than I would actually print. Is this a good way to preview an image to see how big it will print or is there something missing about the process? thanks. have just printed a few small pix so far with qimage.

9  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: printing COREL Draw files with Qimage Ultimate....? on: October 12, 2010, 11:13:58 PM
I see I can also export as PSD would that be better for quimage? Tif I have done for printing inside photoshop tho that's a hassle.
10  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / printing COREL Draw files with Qimage Ultimate....? on: October 12, 2010, 10:35:03 PM
Hi,

Just got Qimage and I see it will not open Corel draw files (cdr) but will do photoshop and tif. Anyone have any success printing Corel files? Most of my work is in Corel. I can save Corel files as Adobe Illustrator, Tif, or PDF, though I have no experience printing PDF photo/art files. Suggestions? Really would help to have a way to print those files in Qimage!
