Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Will Ultimate cut print without setting layout

Beep Beep Beep. backing up. LOL
I have a roll of 36x100 on the printer. The page size I used to experiment was 36x12 with an 8x10 print. I use Ultimate to print just fine with no problems. I just wanted to know how to cut the print after printing. For example. My layout size is 36x12. The 8x10 print will have 2 inches of white after the print and cut. If I print from the HP print utility it will print the 8x10 print and cut it 3/8 on an inch after printing. I just wanted to do this in Ultimate.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Will Ultimate cut print without setting layout

Forgive me if this has been answered. My printer is an HP z6100. If I use the HP print utility the printer will cut the print about 3/8 of an inch (automatically) after the print. In Ultimate I have to set the layout to whatever I want to cutoff the print after. Is there somewhere to set Ultimate to set this? I know the printer will do it just need to find where the setting is.
Thanks in advance. If you need any more info I will be following this thread. Marion

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Need help printing landscape/portrait

Thanks for the quick reply Fred. What I just found out is in my print driver (HP Z6100) I had the % of actual size set to 101. I changed it to the default, actual size, and did a print preview and it showed the print layout correctly being landscape. I will assume it will print correctly on the next print. This was driving me crazy because it was printing just fine. I have to learn not to screw around with print settings. LOL

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Need help printing landscape/portrait

I've been printing with great results. Somehow I reset a setting that when Qimage is showing the layout in landscape it will print portrait. I'm wasting a lot of paper. It was working WYSIWYG but not now. What did I change?
Thanks for any quick replies. I have a lot of prints to get out and I hate wasting paper.

You're righ Fred, there are a lot of ways I'm finding. I think what will work for me is in my print driver under print options then features I set the % of actual size to 101 and that will work for me. Like you said Fred, I'm looking for a print size like 8.01x10.1 or 5.1x7.1 for trimming. This works perfect. It wouldn't be so critical but we mount 5x7's and larger on precut mount board otherwise if it was a 1/16 smaller it wouldn't be a big deal.
Thanks for your help. Awesome forum. Marion

Somewhere I read there is a setting to make prints a little larger for trimming. I just wasn't paying attention at the time but now I could use it. That's fine Fred but sometimes I have a dozen or so prints that I would like a little larger. Too time consuming to resize each one. Marion
