Thanks Mike.

It looks like it's something I'll have to live with until MS get their updates sorted.  I have heard of various other similar issues from elsewhere.

Fortunately, it's an annoyance rather than a 'deal breaker' - Qimage still manages to print with the usual quality.

Regards,
Geoff

Hi,

I'm getting access violations (in ntdll.ddll, for example) since I've started using Windows 10.  These all appear to be related to when I change anything in the printer setup - I'm using an Epson R3000.  If I don't go into the printer setup all seems OK.  I've tried resetting printer settings and deleting .ini files - to no avail.  I don't know if it is of any significance but when I look into qimagepr.in. there is a text string that says (sic) V e r s i o n  E r r o.

Thanks,
Geoff

Hi Fred,

You really do spend time supporting others - that's great.
I think that your solution leaves me with 2 files - the original and the renamed copy.  I want just one file and an album entry that points to it but has a different 'name'.  Then I can just update once and not have to worry about keeping the entries in step.  As I said previously, I think that Mike's solution will work for me.

Thanks again,
Geoff

Hi Fred,

Yes, I appreciate that albums only contain 'pointers' to the actual files.
I must be missing something in what you are saying.

What I want is to maintain the original file with its original name but for the album entry to use a different name - an alias, if you like.  Mike's description idea will do this for me.

Thanks,
Geoff

Thanks to both Fred and Mike - my first posting and very prompt response.

I would ideally like to keep just one copy of my file so although the copy option would work it would mean that I actually had 2 copies of the file.
The description feature looks like it will do what I want - thanks Mike.

Geoff

It would be good to be able to 'rename' an image in an album.  I would like to retain the original name of the image (in its original location) but be able to give the image another name (like an alias) in an album.  This would mean that I could sort the album in my preferred order.

I hope this makes sense.

Regards,
Geoff
