"One of the nicest people ever"  -  That's Fred;  humble and knowledgeable.

You were patient and systematically led me through all the steps in resolving the problem;  and taught me a few things about Skype.

I appreciate your help.

Thank you
Roman

Hi Fred

If you send me your phone number and available days and times, I can call.
I'm in Toronto, so we're metric...but I still remember inches.

Thanks
Roman

I won't be able to implement your suggestions until this evening, but before leaving I printed  8 x 10's on a different printer (Canon), and got the same results.

Autocrop ON  -  7 x 10
Autocrop OFF -  6 x 9

So it's not the printer.

I didn't try printing with Photoshop Elements this time, but I suspect the results may be the same.

So if it's not the printer and it's not Qimage or PSE, then it must be me;  I must be making a basically stupid mistake; something so basic that you may not even suspect.

Anyway, I'll try again later today.

Thanks

It just dawned on me.  The original photo is not 8 x 10.  Is this the problem?
I thought that clicking 8 x 10 in Q would crop my odd-sized photo to these dimensions.

Hi Fred

First of all thanks for trying to lead me through this mire.  What probably seems obvious to you and most people on this forum is often incomprehensible to me.

If you are still up to it could you explain how to do a screen snap, so that I can continue bothering you.

Just printed with Photoshop Elements.   Still 7 x 10.

Huh?

Hi Fred

Tried both of your suggestions;  no luck.
Still 7 x 10.

Those are the measurements of the prints

I click on 8 x 10 and get a print 7 x 10.
Without auto-cropping the result is 6 x 9.

Please advise.
Thanks
