Update: I was able to generate a good print profile from a print using the adobe print utility.  There is another option to print profile targets without color management in CS5 called "null transformation" method.  This method was developed by andrew chan of adobe labs.  Either way works.

Thanks Terry.  I believe i found a solution (won't know til i actually make a profile).  In photoshop cs5 they have removed the "print with no color management".  What they now provide is a utility to let you print out targets.  Located here with an explanation..............

Hope this helps others.

Either way, now that i have profile prism i will likely get qimage as well.

Okay, thanks for the feedback.  I will follow through and try to create a profile with photoshop today.  If it does not work out it looks like Qimage will have to be my next step.  Either way I will post a followup in case someone else is trying to get a profile via photoshop.

I am ready to print the target in photoshop cs5 however I have a question about print settings that I cannot find an answer to in the help files.  I have set my printer up as per instructions but in photoshop I have entered "photoshop manages colors"  under color handling but then photoshop asks me to select a profile.  Which one should I select when printing the target?  rgb? my original printer profile?  adobe rgb? Photoshop cs has no option for no profile.  I'm stumped.  Please help.
