1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Mac version YAEEEEE! on: January 13, 2018, 07:32:06 AM
THANK YOU, MIKE for the Mac version of Qimage!  Just bought it today. Now I can be done with Windows and my Virtual Machine.  What a relief!

Re. Qimage One, I miss the QU feature of printing the file name on the edge of the print, but I found a Lightroom plug-in called  "LR/Mogrify 2" at photographers-toolbox dot com that pretty well does the same thing.  It is an Export plug-in that adds the ability to place the filename outside of the image.  I simply Export the images I want to print into a "print queue" folder, then Q1 takes it from there.

YES!  That is exactly what I needed, Brian.  THANK YOU!

Qimage Ultimate v 218.112
Win 7 Pro with latest updates
VMware Fusion on iMac High Sierra
Canon Pro-100 printer - latest driver installed

I have the printer driver set to 8.5 x 11" paper
I have QI set to 8.5 x 11" Media size
The text above the page preview shows, "Page: 8.000 x 10.68 in.
(600 x 600)" and the way 4-inch prints are laid out, it is indeed 8x10.685. I would expect it to show the media/paper size selected which is 8.5 x 11".

Where did I go wrong?  Screen shots attached.
Thank you!

Thanks, Mike.  That's great insight!  I will explore that angle.  Maybe even move my Ready-to-Print folder way up the tree.  Thanks again!
5  Mike's Software / Qimage / More info - screen cast demo of system and problem on: July 11, 2016, 11:50:01 PM
Here is a 2 min video with audio that explains what I have going on. It's probably something obvious someone will spot right away.  Keep in mind the video recording slowed down things quite a bit.  i.e., the directory refresh in QU takes 17 secs when the video is not recording.

Thanks for looking!

6  Mike's Software / Qimage / Qimage is now taking 20 seconds to refresh a near empty directory on: July 11, 2016, 12:48:06 AM
Qimage Ultimate .155  Win 7(64) on VMwear Fusion 8.1 on iMac OS X 10.11.5

Windows programs seem to load in normal speed, and Qimage used to refresh a directory of photos in about 2-3 seconds with the same software configuration starting with OS X 10.11.1 when I got the Mac.  The rest of Qimage functions just fine and at a normal speed.  Other programs running on the same VM, like Filezilla refresh folders almost instantly, like QI used to.

Even giving the VM 2 cores and 12GB (out of 32GB) of ram made no difference.  The folders are shared with the Mac and is on the internal Fusion HDD.

I have tried for hours and days to get my QI refresh speed back and I would sure appreciate any ideas.
Thanks!
7  Mike's Software / Qimage / Re: Since upgrading PS CS4 to CS6 Qimage Pro darkens some images on: February 26, 2013, 10:27:43 PM
You must be right, Mike.  I installed the Demo of Qimage Ultimate and the offending file showed up as it should.  No wonder I couldn't figure out what I was doing!

I just ordered the full version.

Note to Fred:  Thanks for your thoughtful reply.  I really appreciate your efforts, but it looks like Mike has a good workaround for Adobe's bug.
8  Mike's Software / Qimage / Since upgrading PS CS4 to CS6 Qimage Pro darkens some images on: February 26, 2013, 01:52:25 AM
Win 7 (64)
Here is a problem I am having with Qimage Pro v2010.210, that started after upgrading to Photoshop CS6:
Saturation and brightness look good in PS and in Bridge, but when I load the same files in Qimage Pro, the image goes dark and the colors are desaturated for lack of a more technical term.  See screen shot of the same file displayed in Qimage on the left and Bridge CS6 on the right;

(This photo has ProPhoto RGB color profile)

Here is a screen shot of my Qimage setups;

The most perplexing thing is that it does NOT happen on all images. The prints from Qimage Pro print exactly like what Qimage displays.  Other prints in the same print job looked in QI just like they did in Bridge and PS and they printed that way.  Something is happening to some images between PS and QI.

My work flow is I take my customer's .jpgs and open them in Adobe Camera RAW and send them to Photoshop with ProPhoto RGB color profile. I then print them in QI without making any edits.

What have I done!?

Thanks for any help!
