I fear you are right.  Printing out Epson's color spectrum spread found on the bottom of their set-up test page at least once a week will have to  substitute to keep the pipes open.

I used the unclog prophylaxis t prevent clogs and found this working UNTIL: on one run the sheet showed a sloppy mess of inks running together in the center of the printout.  It spread ink all over the innards of the paper flow so that the next few sheets of A3 to pass thru were ruined with excess ink.
I now use the color spectrum from the Epson test sheet once a week.
Thoughts on what happened with my Qimage purge run?

Was reluctant to use scheduled unclog on my 3800, b/c I had read that leaving the head unparked risked drying the ink ports.
I have just had to junk my 3800, b/c of terminally blocked magenta ink jets.  So, revisiting the issue of every 3 day unclog.
On balance worth the risk?  Is there a risk of not parking head?

Did it again today.  Recalled a job and it changed to Photo Black.  Thanks for the suggestions Fred.  I'll uninstall the driver for the Epson and reinstall.

Win 7  Q Pro  Epson 3800.
I usually print several A3 size prints at a time on Enhanced Matte paper.  I note since I had to transfer everything to a new C drive, on occasion, the paper type will change to letter size and appear as though the wrong profile used.  Worse, on occasion I will press for a print and find the printer changing to Photo Black ink!  I correct the settings and it all goes well until it happens again without warning.  Any thoughts?
