1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Pro 100 print orientation on: October 28, 2017, 10:59:16 PM
For some reason I cannot print in landscape.
All my printing happens in portrait more.
I have confirmed that all settings, qimage and printer are in landscape mode.

What to do?

Thanks,

repdetect

"I wonder if you've modified the set of sizes you normally use -"

Good call Terry-M. That seems to be what I have done. I didn't realize sizes in Print Size Cue could be changed and I apparently inadvertently added 8.5x11 a longtime ago and the cue recently reloaded the default sizes. So I changed the top Print Cue sizes to ones that I typically use, deleted ones I'll never use, and all is well. They now pop up in my Crop Wizard.

Thanks much.

Well there's no accounting for memory at my age I guess.

Thanks much Fred A, the procedure you outlined for saving print/crop sizes works well.

I found entering it each time an annoyance. Annoyance gone.

I remember having and using an 8.5 x 11 in the crop wizard selections as of 3-4 weeks ago then it disappeared, perhaps when I changed to a more recent version .

It wasn't there originally, i.e.when I first loaded Qimage Ultimate, several years ago.

Strange. Could you mention this to Mike?

Is it possible to add an 8.5 x 11 crop selection in the crop wizard box?

I proof with it all the time. It would be more useful to me than 16x20 or 24x36.

It would really be nice if we could put whatever sizes we want in the crop wizard rather than only the defaults there now. 2 or 3 anyway.

Don't know how difficult this would be to implement.

Thanks for your help.

In the past version of Qimage when I set crop lock to 8.5 x 11 in the small box on the editing page it would save it in the available cropping sizes in the Crop Wizard box.

Recently those saved crop sizes disappeared and I cannot find a way to save my preferred crop sizes in the wizard.

Any idea if/how I can do this?

Thanks all for your suggestions.

It was a combination of too bright a monitor. It got switched to AUTO which doesn't work as it keeps changing luminance. Factory calibrated for sRGB and colors are spot on, but luminance value floats in AUTO mode.

I also looked at the print under window light and it looks very close. I was evaluating in too dim a light.

Great forum, most civilized one I use, even after 10 years.

Thanks to all again, much appreciated.

Using a Canon Pro-100 and can't seem to get my prints to match monitor, they print too dark.

I have tried configuring with and without using ICC profile , but no difference.

Help!

Fred-I see how it works now, thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply Fred.

It seems it will only fit the 13x17.5 image to the 13x19 page after I tell it to print to multiple pages.

Is that right?

If I select the Fit to Page button after I set 13x17.5 as a custom print size, nothing happens.

Well I guess I figured it out.

When the "Selected Print Size is larger one page, Do you want prints to span multiple pages?" message comes up (which doesn't make sense, as my print is smaller than 13x19) I had been selecting NO. But when I select Yes, the print sizes to 13 x 17.50, as shown when I  pass the cursor over the image.

Go figure!  Perhaps a bug.
11  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Can't get 13x17.5 prints on: February 15, 2015, 10:09:00 PM
Why when I have cropping set at 13x17.5 and Print Properties set the same for a 13x19 paper on a Canon Pro 100, Qimage keeps changing the print size to 12.69x18.70. The 12.69 I understand is to allow for a border, but why 18.70, not 17.50?

I have the driver selected to None in the Canon Printer Page Setup and Enabled set in the Qimage Color Management.

Anyone have any idea why it keeps changing my settings?

Thanks

Thanks much.

I have a 13x19 paper I'd like to print a 13x16 image on and not have any border on the 13" side.

Is it possible to tell qimage to print a borderless image only on the 13" side of the paper, and if so how?

Terrific, thanks much.

I print my color work on a Canon i9100 and my b&w on a HP 8750. The i9100 has always worked like a charm with qimage but the hp 8750, which prints beautifully, has problems (actually it's a nightmare) with Windows 7. It was designed for XP and HP has pretty much stopped supporting it.

I still have a windows xp computer lying around and would be MUCH better off printing my b&w from it instead of a windows 7 computer.
Can I do a second install of qimage on another computer?

I am retired and have limited income so supporting a second version isn't an option.
