Now all I gotta do is wait!!

I have an older scanner Epson Perfection 1260 along with VueScan software.
Fred, any help is most appreciated.
I only print for myself but my dad always said "If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing well" and that kinda rubbed off on me so I would like to print the best that I can get rather than leaving it to chance.
Do you need just the one IT8 target although I have two printers?

Hi, Is there a Video/DVD tutorial on how to use Profile Prism please?
I have searched online and at youtube but cannot see one.
I'm like one of those judges on that TV program 'The Voice' always hovering over the button (in this case to buy it) but still not sure. One of those people who read how to do it and then forget but see it in action and understand it.

Hi, the image from the Canon looked a little brighter on screen but I expected that although the monitor (NEC) is calibrated with Xrite i1 pro.
The Epson looks really dark on the paper (both the PPD paper and Epsons own Gloss)
The ICC profiles are according to the supplier (Photo Paper Direct UK based) are Ilford as there claim is that there papers are coated and I quote 'We use Ilford coatings on our papers'.
The ink is from Marrut.
I was looking at buying a set of original Epson inks just to see what output I get from them.

The drivers are set on the R1900 as per the video's I have watched (many times )
The paper was two fresh sheets in each printer although it looks joined on the image I just pinned them to a board to take the photo to post here.
The paper is Premium Glossy Photo Paper and to be honest I didn't realise there would be that bigger difference with that profile so back to the drawing board on that one.

Hi, I have the R1900 and a Canon ix6850. Paper used from the same maker along with ICC profiles provided for each printer. I printed both these images at the same time with there correct profiles I also printed from the R1900 on Epson gloss paper using the profile from Mike (    
Epson R1900 Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy ICC Profile for Win7 ) and had a simular result as shown, very dark compared to the Canon image.
I used Canon ink and 3rd party ink in the Epson from a good supplier in the UK.
I no the image a little blurred here but it was taken hand held indoors only to show (I Hope) the light/dark diferance.
Any idea/s what could this quite large differance please?

I would use Epson ink if I could afford to do so but I live in Europe on a pension and like most photography related equipment Epson ink is really out of my pocket range, Epson here costs from about $12.50 to $17.50 per cartridge.
I purchased my ink from a company called Marrutt in the UK  who I beleive also have connections with Lyson ink so assumed that was the best option outside Epsons own ready filled cartridges.
I have now purchased a canon IX6850 and again that was with cost in mind.
I'll see how it goes with then both.

Hi, I intend to buy an extra set of refill carts for the Epson R1900 but while looking online there seems to be two kinds or at least the seller/s on some sites state for Pigment or for Dye and to me I cannot see it unless it is in the chip? So anyone tell me is it just selling hype to maybe get more money for stated Pigment or is there differance?

Hi, Thanks for the reply. I live in Rhodes GREECE so not the easiest place to buy a lot of things. Looked for the 100 but even in the UK cannot find one but if you put an S on the end  there are plenty but around the £398 about $518 and that is on Ebay UK +£25 shipping about $30 so afraid way outta my reach. For the panoramas I saw Jose Rodriguez on youtube with the Pro 100 make a 26 inch pano by cutting the paper to length and letting hang over the back of the printer and I would probably not want to go beyond that. Hi, Thought I had fixed my Epson R1900 but now getting Purple skies instead of Blue so looking at the CANON PIXMA iX6850 as a replacment, YES!! I would love to say getting the  Pro-100s that was spoken about in a previous thread on PINK prints from the same Epson R1900 but alas I just cannot justify that amount of money on something I only do for my own satisfaction. The thing holding me back on the Canon printer/s is they don't seem to be able to do panorama printing as with the Epson and the extra roll paper holder fitment, am I wrong here? is there a way round it with Canon printer/s?

Good news (at least for now) I purchased a cleaning option from a UK company 'PrintHead Hostpital' and it cleared what was a blockage on the two right side carts and now seems to be printing OK.

Many thanks for the replies. What I don't understand is why it should glog up! I use as I said in the OP Qimage every month to run a an un-glog pattern,I don't use the printer every day but when I do use it I print A3 images. I am also useing refillable carts from Marrutt with there ink so not cheap stuff from Ebay. I have purchased a cleaning option from the PrintHead company (be here in about a week) as thought worth a few quid to see if it will do the trick before spending out on a new printer, again only had this R1900 printer for about 18 months.

Hi, I have an Epson R1900 Photo,although an old machine as models go I bought this new early last year. I use Qimage along with Marrutt refillable carts, Pigment ink.
Was working fine and used the unglog option at least once a month.
Now prints are coming out on Epson prem Gloss paper all pink on what should be a black background and yellow on what should print blue, no other colours seem to be working either.
This is not the first time I have had this problem with an Epson printer, the last one got tossed to the bin.
I have tried three differant ICC profiles and also let printer work the colours all with the same result.
Not wanting to get bogged down with unglog remedies available as where I live it costs 50% of the purchase in postal costs on top. ( 20 UKP cost  10 UKP postal).
I just print for me not to sell so if there is no quick fix here what Canon A3 printer does a good job?

Hi, Yes did a search myself but found nothing much on the subject and what I did find was like 3 or more years ago.
Maybe should just take the latest update to QU like I have done every year thus far
