In addition to the ability to print any size and arrange on the paper, have a look at this:
"New Forge interpolation method raises the bar for print clarity and accuracy!"
https://ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/tech-prt.htm

This has always been the significant feature of Qimage with improvements over time. There are other significant features listed there too.

I agree.
His photos and those of his wife, who passed away some years before Fred, are still on Flickr.
So, have a look here and recall all the good memories of him.

I was aware that Fred was nearing the end of his life just over a month ago when I asked Mike about him. It is very sad news for myself and many others.
I think it was 2005 when I started using Qimage and right from the beginning Fred was very helplful. Later on we were definitely 'online' friends when we used Skype for video chats on a regular basis where we not only talked about photography but our families and other activities. I think the last online chat we had was within the last 2 years and have exchanged emails in the last 2 months. I still have some of his photos that he shared with me.
We'll miss him on the forum but I do have good memories of him.

Does the feature ICC-Override convert the color space (with what rendering intent from larger to smaller space?) or just “assign”
It 'assigns'. A QU image filter does not modify the basic image, other programs will not recognise it. QU applies the filter in QU only for screen and printing.
I don't think rendering intent applies to image conversions, only to prints.
Hopefull Mike will add some more detail for you.

I suggest you convert all images to the same colour space.
This can be done, without making ot a permanent change, in the image editor Auto Correct section, ICC overide.
See attached screen shot.

7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: How to replace a photo of a saved job? on: June 05, 2023, 10:47:05 AM
Hello Ernst,
What I do is open the Queue Tab, and for a single image job, drag the new thumbnail to the queue list on top of the existing image. That then changes to the new image. I've checked it with borders and a mat, they remian in place.
You will need to save as a new job of course.

Unfortunately I cant use a snarky reply as if I were retarded, but that's how I took it anyway.
Maybe a better reply might be the proper settings to use to solve this problem.
Mike is THE expert and has been telling you how to get the 'proper' settings - as have several others.
That is, reduce the brightness on your monitor(s) to match a good test print. Just do it!

This is a regular problem and many of us have learnt the lesson years ago. I print with several paper types, all with custom profiles and a calibrated Eizo monitor, brightness set to 75cd/m sq. Prints good, monitor images good (from all sources as well as my own), online images all good.

Their advice is that “the calibration is the calibration”. That’s why I came here for help
Yes that is right but monitor calibration in my experience does not set brightness. If too bright, colours will look washed out.

Where did you get your custom profiles?
I'm in the UK. I used a local small company but there other national ones around who do it. I've always found custom profiles are better than those provided by paper and printer manufacturers. That was some time ago so they may have improved.

Hello, I've using QU for years with a calibrated Eizo monitor and mostly custom printer profiles for a range of Epson and Ilford papers. Monitor and prints match very well.
I'll just say this, the monitor should match the print, not the other way round when using full colour managed printing. I've hardly ever had an issue with colour matching, all I've done is adusted the MONITOR brightness to match the test print and then re-calibrated the monitor. I use 6500k for the monitor.

Have you checked the printer for blocked nozzles? If OK then it seems the paper profile is not good. Try some fresh paper of a different brand, eg Espson if an Epson printer. Also us some standard test images.
I hope this helps in some way.

One for Mike:
I was sent some High Efficiency Image File Format images from an iPhone to process & print but QU cannot open them. I used Affinity Photo to convert to JPEG's so I am now able to print.
Is there ay possibility that QU will be able to process these images in the Future?
