Recently I've noticed if I edit and make E-mail copies of images from my Sony phone, they have Adobe RGB embedded in the image.
The original images do not have an embedded profile and show sRGB in QU without an asterisk, as expected.
If I use the ICC override to sRGB in the Editor, they still end up as Adobe RGB when an E-mail copy is made.

I don't take that many photos with my phone but all those taken this year have the problem. Prior to that, 2020 and earlier they are ok when emails copies were made.

Any ideas what's going on please?

Hi Mike,
Can I add one observation about RAW Refine this thread - something I've been meaning to ask for some time.
When ODR is used in Raw Refine, Highlight Recovery (HDR v2) works far more effectively than when ODR is Off. It even works when Fill is Zero or even a negative value.

With ODR Off, the effectiveness of HDR varies depending on the amount of Fill, much more so than when ODR is on. If Fill is Zero or negative then HDR is not possible.

Is there a reason for this difference or can HDR, with ODR Off, be made to work the same as when ODR is On?

Easy peasy.
Use curves in the editor and move the point top right (255) to 0 and move the bottom lef point (0 (zero) up to 255 so the line now slopeas in the opposite direction.

One for Mike probably but maybe others would check this too please.
In addition to Saved Printer Setups for a printer, I also have saved Setups for Print to File (PTF).

I can recall any PTF setup when normal Printer settings are in place but if PTF is already set then I cannot and the window with the saved printer setting is empty.
This is a relatively new problem, since 2021 version I think. I am using v2021-101.

Although I've done little printing this year I have taken quite a few photos, even during the CV19 lock-down. We were allowed out for exercise so local walks and bike rides were an opportunity for photography. Now we can visit places like our National Trust properties. Back in April, the weather here was unusually good so being able to do these little excursions was great. I spent time in the garden too which again provided opportunities for some photography, particularly macro.
If you look at my Flickr Albums, the last 20 are this year, mostly during the pandemic period. Many just record shots but good to keep my hand in for observation, composition and processing.

Usually people ask why are my prints too dark - that's usually because their monitor is too bright.
It sounds as if your is too dark.
You didn't mention anything about monitor calibration? Most calibration software will allow your to set the brightness value (cd/sqm) before calibration. This will mean some checking and tweaking probably.
If not, the trick is to set the brightness of your monitor to a print before calibrating.
As I said, making trial prints is basically a no-no for me, right first time is the plan

I agree.
The real answer is to have a good monitor that is calibrated properly and use good quality papers with good quality profiles. Most papers now are supplied with a reasonable profile for a variety of printers but a custom made profile for your particular printer/paper (and possibly ink if not original for printer) is the best option.
I would say pretty well all of my prints match my monitor screen very well for colour and contrast. You do have to recognize that for matte, including so called "fine art", papers that the colour intensity can be less than you would get for gloss or semi gloss.

This is because those sizes have different aspect ratios. The 3x5 matches the image, 5x7 does not.
If  you put the crop scissors on for the 5x7 you would lose part of the image which I'm sure you would not want.
The larger print is in fact 4.2 x 7.

Monitors (of a reasonable quality) will have a larger gamut than a printer. See attached screen shot.
The smaller area is for my Epson R2000 with Ilford smooth gloss custom profile. The larger is for my Eizo  monitor which has a gamut that is a little greater than Adobe RGB.

OK. I get what you want I think
There are 2 ways to do this in QU.
1. Use the image editor and set Crop Lock with a specific aspect ratio and the adjust the crop to suit your preference in size and position. See first 2 screen shots. You can move the crop and change it's size (same aspect ratio) to whatever you like
2. Use the Full Page Editor after placing the image in the Queue for printing at the desired print size (any 5:4 ratio say) with "crop on". Use the cropping Tab to Zoom and position the crop as desired. See the 3rs and 4th screen shots. Again you can move the crop and change it's size (same aspect ratio) to whatever you like.

As you see there's usually a way to do it in QU, two choices in this case

PS. What I normally do in cases where I've done some perspective correction like your example is to the crop the image in the Image Editor to it's maximum possible size. and then adjust as required in the Print Editor. However, often in such cases I would have print crop off and use the full area of the image.

It automatically crops the image when used.
