1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Qimage hanging + thumbnail flashes when I add a specific image to print on: August 13, 2015, 05:15:36 PM
I can not release the file. When I get some time, I will play around with the file to see if I can figure out the problem.
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Qimage hanging + thumbnail flashes when I add a specific image to print on: August 07, 2015, 08:29:22 PM
I am having an odd problem that is causing Qimage to somewhat freeze. When I add a specific flattened tiff file to the print layout, the software partially freezes then the print layout thumbnail flashes up and goes away. The software then acts frozen again. I tried to resave the file with no compression instead of zip, no change.

While writing this, I tried just hitting print and when it got to the image in question, it threw a Thread Error: The handle is invalid (6). I just upgraded to 16.109 from 15.128 and the results are the same.
3  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: How to set default sizing to "original size" on: June 11, 2015, 04:02:52 PM
Thanks. That fixed it. I think the biggest key is the save button.
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / How to set default sizing to "original size" on: June 11, 2015, 03:25:30 PM
I printed some images that were very close to the size QI had selected when I opened up the program. I forgot to hit the original size option and as a result, the prints printed out a little small. Normally I can catch the issue because the sizes are not close. I would like to set the program default to be original size so I do not have to run into this problem again. All images are presized in photoshop or ordering software before going into QI. This is a rare issue, but I want to eliminate it.

Running 2015.128
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: How to eliminate "Waiting for printer" with multiple "pages"? on: September 15, 2014, 06:06:15 PM
Thanks. Since the * is next to the all at once radio button (default), I guess I must have changed it at one point while testing. Oops.
6  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / How to eliminate "Waiting for printer" with multiple "pages"? on: September 11, 2014, 03:56:04 PM
When I send multiple pages to any network printer or network canon ipf printer, it always says "waiting for printer" before it will send the next page to the printer. The problem is that it never sends the next page automatically, I have to click override. It is annoying when I hit print, walk away and come back to the printer and only see 1 page printed. Is there a way to force QI to just send the pages (or worst case, with a time delay)? Thanks.
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: What is Qimage Ultimates internal/working color space? on: July 01, 2014, 11:22:40 PM
I just want to verify that I understand this correctly (and what I assumed), QU converts each image individually to the paper color space with the selected rendering intent (relative, perceptual, etc). It then takes all of the converted images and renders a larger file, then it sends it to the printer (in chunks).

I just want to make sure that QU does not render all of the files together then convert the single file to the paper color space. If it did this, each image would change the colors of the others in perceptual rendering.

Yep, that fixed it. Would have never guessed "FineZoom" was the problem. Thanks.

I guess I will have to use 60"x90" then. For the very large items, I might have to use the print plugin (assuming it doesn't downsize below 300ppi).

As to the number of files, it will vary. It could be 1 image or it could be 30. It will depend on what is ordered.

Every file is ready to print at 300ppi. Our ordering systems render the files at 300ppi for the size ordered (ie a 16x20 is rendered 16x20@300ppi). The system automatically upsamples/downsamples as needed.

The only change between the 2 screen shots is changing the media size from 60"x90" to 60"x120" in the driver. The main use of Qimage for us is to use it for nesting many files/sizes at once, like a poor mans rip.

Below are screen shots of what I see. Is it possible that the program will resize the image(s) to the set ppi if it is less than that number? (ie, the file is 10x15 @ 150ppi originally and will resize it, but if it was 10x15@600ppi, it will not?)
12  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Changing Media Size Changes Max PPI Available? (Canon ipf9100) on: July 01, 2014, 01:35:19 AM
I just bought the program and have noticed an issue with the job properties ppi. If I create the following custom size medias, the max resolution changes
- 60"x120" Prints: Max-200PPI (to get max nesting benefit)
- 60"x90" Prints: Max-300PPI

What gives? I want 300PPI.
