1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate Wish List / Recall Jobs etc on: July 12, 2019, 09:31:21 AM
In the Job/ Layout file name I like to put details of size, paper type, orientation, printer settings etc  I would like the column width in the Recall window to be adjustable so I can more easily name the Jobs/Layouts. The whole box adjusts but not the column widths.
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Version.123 update problem on: July 10, 2019, 03:46:22 PM
Thanks Mike..
When you mentioned anti virus I remembered I have recently used another browser so I disabled its antivirus.
I then used my usual browser to download v.123 and it installed no problem.
3  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Version.123 update problem on: July 08, 2019, 07:47:46 PM
I have failed to update to version .123
Everything seemed as usual but the update didn't happen.
Tried again, then uninstalled Qimage and tried again.
Reinstalled version .122 and it works fine.
Tried to install .123 again.
Something odd is happening, I notice the Qimage Installation box for .123 and all the way to Successfully Installed box has a green line round it.
Renewal date is next month so all should be OK
I click on Qimage shortcut and the .122 version runs.
Any ideas?
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Template position, Problem solved. on: June 29, 2019, 10:32:58 AM
Problem solved:
I use templates for greeting cards but found that the position of the photo was different when I tested it on plain paper rather than on the glossy or matte photo papers.
So testing the layout on cheap plain paper was not working.
I looked at my settings and realised I had “borderless” set for the photo papers. When I tried to set borderless for plain paper it wasn’t allowed.
The template position is different with borderless.
This means that I must uncheck borderless when using photo papers if I want to use plain paper for testing. (or use waste photo paper for testing and keep borderless checked)
I hate to think how many sheets of paper I used to test the above.
Hope it helps someone.
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Cut marks on: August 28, 2018, 12:45:32 PM
Thanks Mike. I missed the single pixel black line around but the dotted shows up and all is obvious when I put a white border around the picture.
It was them not showing up in Page editor or Soft Proof that fooled me.
Thanks Mike and Fred.
6  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Cut marks on: August 27, 2018, 01:04:52 PM
I can get Crop Marks and Guide Lines to work and show up on the main, edit and soft proof pages. None of the other marks e.g. solid black, dashed black and white etc seem to work. They don't show up before or after printing. Any ideas anyone?
7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Which profile? on: January 08, 2018, 11:26:51 PM
Thanks Fred. Didn't know about that screen, found it now.
8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Which profile? on: January 08, 2018, 02:24:55 PM
Thanks Fred,
The folder was hidden so I unhid it. But nothing appears when I choose new profile and look there. I can only reach it by 'Let printer/driver' etc
Profile Prism can't adjust it because it says it's not a Prism profile.
I see you checked Relative colorimetric and Black point compensation boxes. I'll try those settings and see what happens.
The reason I'm playing about with profiles is that I have a packet of cheap paper that gives strange colours, a yellowish cast.
Teach me to get cheap paper!
John

9  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Which profile? on: January 08, 2018, 09:54:14 AM
How can I tell which profile is used if I select 'Let printer/driver manage color'?
I used Prism Profile as usual and got a reasonable print, I then used 'Let printer etc' and got a better result but it could do with a bit of tweaking.
I can't see how to find what that profile is. The Job Log just says 'Let printer etc', likewise the cursor hover info.
It must be one of the ones in there!
Happy New Year to All, John

Thanks Mike, well done. Excellent response to a problem as usual.
11  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Plugin mystery on: May 02, 2017, 04:51:38 PM
Thanks Fred, I've got your email. It was just chance I used the Photoshop greyscale, for a quick look. I usually Use Topaz B&W for black and white prints.
Glad you and others found the same thing, I thought I was going mad.
12  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Plugin mystery on: May 01, 2017, 10:27:53 PM
The grey scale I used in Photoshop is Image>Mode>Greyscale>Flatten>Discard
Then File>Automate>Qimage
and voila it's in three columns, smeared downwards
Just done it again to check.

13  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Plugin mystery on: April 30, 2017, 08:15:43 PM
Can someone repeat what I've been doing and see if they get the same result.
I have been using Photoshop and Qimage plugin to print with no problems.
But if in Photoshop I convert a photo to greyscale and then use the plugin, the image in Qimage appears three times but in three thin columns in the one thumbnail and in the print live view.
Please give it a try and see what happens.
Any thoughts about what's going on?

14  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Panorama picture puzzle on: February 17, 2017, 11:48:12 AM
Thanks again Terry,
I agree, not worth the waste of paper with rotating it, I just couldn't work out the way to do it.

15  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Panorama picture puzzle on: February 16, 2017, 11:33:11 PM
Thanks Terry,
It was the auto crop that fooled me, I didn't think of it because it's on all the time. All works OK now.
I've used ICE for years but not the multilevel type that seems to be used with your pictures, they look great.
I'll have a go with that. I have done HDR panoramas using ICE, lots of room for errors there.
Any thoughts on part 2.) rotating wide narrow panoramas to get the greatest width from the paper?

John
