...  So while you are using it to display one folder, there could be files from three, four, or more different folders showing at one time in the file list.

Regards,
Mike

Mike:

Does the album feature display the full path in the file list, or just the file name?

Fred:

That's a good suggestion, but unfortunately I use my monitor in "portrait" mode, so my horizontal real estate is still a bit short for my long path names.  Might help other folks though.

I originally stated that I needed to scroll back and forth to see the names, but I now realize that there are no scroll bars, so the only way to see the file names is to run the pointer across each line--very tedious.  (I've been forced to stick with 2009.209--the last version that showed only the file names--so I forgot about the lack of scroll bars.)

I may be in the minority here, but I seldom use the thumbnail view in the file browser, preferring to use the file listing instead.  Unfortunately, since version 2009.250 the file listing won't show just the filename, and instead shows the entire path for every item.  This makes it difficult to see the filenames without scrolling the file browser back and forth.

Since the pathname is already displayed above the folder listing, it seems unnecessary to show the full path for every item in the file listing.  It would be great if this could be returned to its original design.

(Or perhaps I've missed something.)

Is the printer connected over a network, or directly via USB?

You found no other items with high cpu figures in task manager?  Rundll32.exe, or spoolsv.exe for example?

Have you tried bringing up the task manager to see if Qimage is really the culprit?

Try the following while you are experiencing the problems:

- Right-click an empty part of the task bar and choose "Task Manager."
(Or press Ctrl-Shift-Esc.)
- Click on the Processes tab to bring up a detailed list of running processes.
- Note any excessive ones (20 or higher) in the cpu column.

Do you see anything other than Qimage with a high cpu number?

There is a "save as job" option.  Is it not saving everything you need?

No problem on that Seth, but thanks.

I just purchased a new printer and my question involved transitioning over 100 jobs that were created with the old printer.   I think I answered my own question:  Whatever you do, don't uninstall the old printer and profiles until the old jobs have been converted to the new printer!

I use it for personal and business use.

The most important aspect for me is the ability to call up previously saved jobs and have everything--print layout, printer settings, sharpening, etc.--automatically set up.  Someone calls and says they want xyz print: All I need to do is recall the the job, load the printer and go.

That actually brings up a question, but I can start a new topic for that.

Thomas,

In the floating text properties box, check off the "link to:" box, and then "selected print."  You can try adjusting the gap between the text and the edge of the paper by adding a border to the print.  (The "Borders" box, below the "Actual print size.")
