I have a 500 jpg that I need to split (GIS file)

Does anyone have any suggestions for auto splitting to sheet sized resolutions 8x11 ?

thanks!

Why would I want the crop sissors on?  I dont want to crop anything I don't understand why for example if my paper is really 24" wide why I would have to set the printable area to 24.02?

The custom size was used to get the right orientation.  it tried the templat initally but they were oriented 4 wide and 6 high

So far I can repeat what you are doing, and it all appears to be done properly.
Qimage is reporting the printable area correctly too.
The only two places that I don't quite follow is (1) if you want 6 x 4 prints, you would need the crop scissors turned on. You are showing 5.95 x 4.00.
(2) Why did  you need to go into CUSTOM to select 6 x 4 when there's a simple size button for that?

As for having to recreate the scene each time, simply SAVE as a JOB with a descriptive name, and RECALL whenever you want to use it. Then add your images...

See screen snaps..

I have been a registered user for awhile but I am always dinking with the user defined sizes and thought I must be doing it wrong...

I go to printer properties and set a user defined paper size (even thought I am using a roll 24" wide. I also have borderless set in the printer driver.

I set it to 24.02 x 12.02 for 3 rows 4 columns of 4x6 photos. If I set the height to 12 then Qimage will take a row away, even though 4 inches high x 3 rows = 12 inches... so that is why I entered a slighly larger size.  The custom size of 6x4 was entered, enter specific size was chosen, and auto cropping was off.

Then qimage says the size is now 23.997x11.997

1)If I am always using a 24" roll one would think there ought to be a better way to print graphics rather than defining a custom size every time.  Is there a template that can be used that just allows me to add pictures to it and stop printing at the whitespace?  This would eliminate the need for defining custom sizes all the time.  Just select the photos, define the size of those photos, arrange and print.

2)If a custom size has to be defined all the time how is the height and width calculated for user defined paper in the printer driver if the finalpicture size is defined in qimage? Just add on .02 all the time?

3) based on the screenshots you can see that I did not have the crop option on, so why are the pictures being cropped? last image in set

What protection does it have about the first copy bring corrupt or the first transfer device being full?

22 of 24 copied to hard drive then 22 transferred over network and the remaining 2 transferred from the card?
6  Mike's Software / Qimage Studio Edition (archived) / Re: Will backgound printing ever be improved? on: March 15, 2011, 08:57:58 PM
Thanks

So will one ever be able to do it on a per page basis?
7  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Does it transfer intelligently? on: March 15, 2011, 08:16:49 PM
Meaning, if it makes multiple copies as shown in the demo video, does it make a copy from the local source rather than reading the card reader twice?  It was not mentioned in the video, but this would indeed save a lot of time. I understand that a one device could be full (which one could write an exception for) and the copy could be bad (rare but a checksum should be created from the card files and compared to the final output?)

Also what if you want 1 copy of a jpg developed and one tiff developed?

Qimage studio edition.

One can set a background color globally but not on a per page basis.

Why is this and will it ever be improved or is the product pretty much dead?

What would be the best way to use a background texture repeated image for the background?

Thanks!

Here ya go

Thanks. However I had mentioned that someone might reply with a response like yours. You can view one extension or the other I know.. but it would be nice to display all, combine similar, and differentiate images that have both a jpg and a raw or images that just have a raw or a jpg... I can take a screenshot if no one but me uses the free Nikon View NX software.

Kelly Software Rename4u works quite well and it is free. http://www.kellysoftware.com/software/rename4u.asp

Give it a try.

Meh.. I woul dhave to edit them anyway. As I mentioned in the original post (I think)  GPS data is recorded in one image and I want to apply to all images, raw or jpg.  Apprently cant do raw?

I would like to take/edit metadata from one image and apply to all images.

ANother thing to look at, depending on camera model, is the ability to store Owner and/or Comments information in the file as you shoot them.  I store © 20xx in the Comments as I shoot.
14  Mike's Software / Qimage / Re: copying/editing metadata on: September 17, 2009, 03:19:18 PM
Here I go requesting features that have already been added.

Can you please point me to the manual page where I can edit the info for one image and apply to all others?

Thank you
15  Mike's Software / FlashPipe / Re: apply metadata? on: September 17, 2009, 03:16:19 PM
Why woudl it stop me? I already paid for the studio edition...

Don't let the minor issues put you of from getting great prints.  Wink
Terry.
