I tried to remove the cast as suggested but no luck there, I'm afraid.... For me, the wait is not a problem as I use Qimage only for printing JPEG images converted from RAW in LR. The JPEGS are unaffected. Thanks for the suggestion

Hi Fred...I've just seen your reply...The image sent was not the one Lightroom refused to open. The sent image was opened and processed successfully in Lightroom. To clarify, all Raw images taken with BOTH 5DMk4 bodies change from normal to the pink tint as Qimage builds the thumbs......

Hello Fred...Thanks for your reply.

It IS a new camera, a Canon 5D Mk4 . I think you've hit the nail on the head regarding the corrupted image. I process and convert to JPEGs in Lightroom, using Qimage to print. When processing the folder, there was just one RAW file which came up 'Lightroom cannot process this file' or something like that. I'd not seen that before and pressed on with processing the remaining files. Obviously the problem only emerged when I opened Qimage.

This family event was the first time the camera was used for real, the previous test shots (a dozen or so) display no problem. The folder contains some 390 images including the converted JPEGS some of which will be printed. Being an old duffer, when something changes it's extra hard (for me) to adapt, this is why I use Lightroom and not Qimage for my processing. I'm using my laptop at the moment and when I open up my desktop later I'll have a go at sending you an image as well as opening up some more folders in Qimage.

Have you any idea what could have caused the corruption?

Update No1: RAW file K8A0095.CR2 Sent @ 09.55hrs BST via 'WE TRANSFER'

Update No2: I've just uploaded another 12 test shots and Qimage has turned those pink as well!!.....Have I got a dodgy camera?

Udate No3:  A further  batch of 14 uploaded FROM A DIFFERENT CANON 5DMK4 BODY with the same result, all thumbs are pink.

Perhaps Qimage is not liking 5DMk4 RAW files for some reason?

Thanks again...Gerry

The RAW cache has turned pink in one of my folders. I've tried to rebuild and the thumbs are initially as they should be but gradually all turn pink (or magenta, if you like) as the cache rebuilds.  I've done an uninstall/reinstall of Qimage but the problem still persists. JPEG images in the same folder are unaffected. What have I done to cause this?..Any help in simple terms appreciated please.

Thanks Mike.....It looks as though it was the latest W10 update which screwed it up..I first tried starting QU with the shift key held which gave the same result. I Then went into my printers, per your instuctions, selected a default printer and then restarted QU as normal and everything fired up as it should do........Good old W10

Many thanks for your assistance, brilliant support.

Hello Mike....

Thanks for coming back.....This is going to take me some time, the last folder opened was in a separate Lacie hardrive with some 25,000 pictures, I guess that is the drive I need to temporarily clear out and not the pictures in the 'C' drive?....  I tried another un-install / re-install and as well the previous messages, another one popped up, 'Exception EPrinter in module Qimage.exe at 00170F4E. There is no default printer currently selected', is this relevant?.....

Please forgive my naive questions, I'm not all that computer literate and I have to await someone more competant/confident than me to try all your fixes.....I have already temporarily disabled my Mccaffe anti-virus to no effect.

Thanks again...Gerry

I got a bit of trouble.........

I'm trying to open QU, (V2018.107). I'm getting the following message 'Qimage did not shut down properly last session. Prior shutdown code 11a'.......I may have shut my computer down without first closing QU. I have done this occasionally in the past but had no problem in subsequently opening QU.

I've tried:-

(1) Starting the session in both 'normal' and 'safe' modes, it will have neither, Windows closing the program every time with the message ' Qimage Ultimate has stopped working'.

(2) Deleted QU (twice) and done successful re-installs but the same thing happens. Edit: When I said 'delete' I should have said 'un-install'

This has happened after the latest W10 Creator update, this may be a coincidence.

My printer, a Canon IP8750, is connected to my computer (by cable) , is working OK and has the latest driver. (I've printed a test page via Windows)

Can anyone assist please?....In as simple terms as possible, I'm an even older duffer than when I last 'spoke' here

I am going to tell her you said that.

Thanks for all that Fred....With the dot in the TOP option, the old 2011 program still comes up but with the dot in the bottom option I can send direct from Qimage as against my email program....I think I'll take your advice and go for the 'Thunderbird' program.

Many thanks for your time

14  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Default Mail Program on: July 11, 2016, 03:02:37 PM

Can anyone help please, how can I change my Qimage default mail program from 'Windows Live Mail 2011' to the latest one, 'Outlook Email ' which was installed on my W10 computer last week. In Qimage, I go to 'edit' > 'preferences'> 'mail sending options', the old program comes up OK , Qimage resizes OK but I now get a 'Live Mail' error message when I send the email with the image attached. This has happened only since last week's update and I expect it's time to get Qimage to use my latest email program. The default email app on my computer is the latest email program.  I suspect it it may a W10 (or perhaps Firefox) issue but I'm not literate enough to be able to sort it. Can anyone assist please?

Please keep it simple, I'm not very bright!

Gerry
