Technical Discussions / Cameras / Re: Camera Profile for Sony DSC RX10M4

Thanks Fred. So a profile for this camera is not in Q. Is that why the image description at the bottom shows the ICC as srgb.icm? This is my first Sony I've used since I started with Q in '09 that this happened, so I was confused. Howard

Technical Discussions / Printers / Re: unclog routine
|

I have used several Epson's for over the last 15 years and have only had three serious clogs. None have occurred since I read an article about 12 years ago suggesting not to turn the printer off. This also stops the ink waste when the printer is turned back on! I currently have an Epson 2880. When there is a problem, the Qimage "unclog" works well and I have rarely had to resort to using Epson's unclog
Now I use the unclog routine prior to printing a large and/or critical image. Or, when the printer turned off because of a power loss.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Recover Printer Sizes?
|

Hi Fred,
Thanks for your response. I tried "Load Sizes" and found that none of the three files had all my thirty seven custom sizes.
Then I searched for "sizes.ini" files in my backup drive. I found the latest one on the drive had all my sizes. I then copied that file to the ddisoftware/Qimage/save folder and renamed it "{Q}HR Sizes.btn. When I went back into Qimage to "load sizes", it was there and I now have all my old sizes back!
Thanks for your help. Howard

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Recover Printer Sizes?
|
on: February 06, 2015, 11:07:27 AM

I suddenly lost all the custom print sizes that I had set up over time. Now I only have a short list of "standard" sizes
How can I recover all the ones I had? I can't find where they may be stored so that I can restore them from a back up.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Qimage Ultimate Learning Center - Videos Available Now

When Q-U was first introduced, I was wondering if I needed to "upgrade". I did upgrade, as I did when Q-Studio was introduced, as a way of thanking you for your fantastic program and support. As you introduced the new Q-U features I was happy and enthusiastic about what was to come. The video training is a great aid to learning more about Q. I've had Q for a long, long time and follow the forums religiously. I'm happy to say the videos have taught me several things!
Thank You

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Requirements for "Best" QU Performance?

Thanks Mike! I ordered a laptop with an I7-740QM, quad core with turbo boost to 2.92GHz. It will arrive with 4GB RAM and I can increase it to 8GB. I'll be using WIN 7 64 bit. It also will include both an on-board Intel graphics chip as well as an ATI graphics card with 1GB VRAM. I'm hoping/expecting that it will 'blaze" compared to my 4 year old laptop!

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Requirements for "Best" QU Performance?
|
on: November 02, 2010, 06:09:09 PM

I'm about to purchase a new laptop computer, finally moving to WIN 7. Does/will a 64 bit machine make a significant difference in QU's performance to justify the extra cost? How much ram should I include to maximize performance? How much difference will a dedicated graphics card make? I'm considering the Dell Studio 15 or their Precision M4500 Mobile workstation. Does anyone have experience with either of these machines? Appreciate any suggestions and comments to help my decision since I'm a photographer and QU is my most important software.
Howard
