Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Image Read Error

That file is not one of the larger ones, but I still get an error message. These are saved as Tiff, 16 bit, no compression. The files are flattened, no layers saved. I have working files with layers, but saved to a different folder. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again, Mike gary

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Image Read Error
|
on: April 20, 2024, 01:57:17 PM

Great product, with great support. I am running 2024.101 on a win10 machine. I have been running into a lot of "Image Read Error" issues as it is generating the thumbnails. Now some of these files are huge- I am printing a series of 40x60" prints- and downsizing them just a little works. But often I see no cause. I had 3 variants of an image saved. They were exactly the same file size. The naming differed only by a number-- 1,2,3. No other differences. No spaces, symbols or anything. Two loaded normally, one gave me an image read error. I renamed that file changing the number- and it loaded fine.
For example file name: sun n fun IR 041024 020895 File size is 9000x6001 pixels. This gives me a "image read error"
None of this is a deal breaker- but is annoying. Is there something I can change in my naming protocol?
Thanks in advance for any help and guidance. Gary

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Print info #2
|
on: January 13, 2024, 12:40:28 AM

Mike, sorry to ask another question about print info. I am printing a fair number of small prints on different papers for clients. What I need is the full path/filename you already provide- plus the profile. The profile lets me know what paper was used, as I often send several different papers for them to compare. I did not see/understand how to do that in your prior video-- it may just be that I am slow. Sorry Any help appreciated. Thanks gary

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Layout question
|
on: December 11, 2023, 03:26:44 PM
|
I have been using qimage for printing for a long time- great product! I print several thousand note card/greeting cards a year. 7x10" cardstock. 6.5x4.5" image on the front, centered with a 1/4" border. Signature logo on the back, basically the upper edge of the 7x10 sheet. In the past I would build each card in photoshop and save the card as a file to print- worked great. I am getting more and more requests to build cards- so looking into qimage layout to make this all easier. I built a simple layout- and it works great. My question is- is there a way to build a layout that my signature "image" is saved with the layout, so I do not need to add it to each card. I would like to simple click and add 10 images, save it as a job, and print out the 10 cards as needed, with image and signature. I can get everything to work now, except i have to add my signature image to each card separately. Not a big deal, just a little cumbersome. Thanks for any help! gary

By the way- the new driver AI seems to be a wonderful feature. It noted one driver error on my present job- it did not actually effect my printing due to the size I use-- but if could have. Thanks for a great product gary

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Upgrade question
|
on: May 20, 2023, 02:03:54 PM
|
I am happily using qimage 2022.120. 4 printers happily printing from qimage- with wired and wireless setups. I should note- I am an old fart and this computer stuff is not my strong suit. I just saw the 2023 qimage upgrade. I "assume" the upgrade will leave everything else intact. It has in the past, but wanted to ask before I screwed everything up. Overall great program that keeps printing easy. gary

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Help. Qimage only printing one image, no matter how many selected.

Please let me know if any other screenshots will help. As you see 10 note cards are in the view/print queue. It processed all 10 files The printer only printed the last file- anhingaonmoss. Used qimage for years- never really had a problem before.
I have rebooted computer. Reset the printer Let me know what else I can try Thanks for your time and expertise- this is way over my head. Not sure how to make screenshots smaller, so will post a couple of messages, sorry
Thanks again gary

Fred I print 7x10" note cards, which when folded are 5x7". Picture on the front, logo on the back. Inside of card is empty. I print and box groups of 10. They have become pretty popular- last year printed 90 groups of 10. 90 presents of 10 cards per box. So I printed 900 cards. I save them as a job of the 10, so I can just push print and print off another group as needed throughout the year.
Now, for some reason, I can only print one different image at a time. If I load one image and ask for 10 copies- that works fine. But if I load 10 images and ask for 1 copy- it only prints one copy of the first image. Qimage processes all 10 of them, but the print queue only sees one image. Win 10, current upgrades. Not the end of the world, but a bit of a pain Thanks for any guidance. gary
