I wish being in the UK was the reason for the poor weather.  I'm actually in New York State.

I was wondering about the WB being corrected in QU since, for a RAW picture, it's an after the fact adjustment anyways.

Thanks.

Boy, your histograms are text book perfect.  I am using QU.  I will shoot new targets once the weather clears.  Rain all day today and more for during the week.  Since work gets in the way of hobbies I probably won't get a chance until next weekend.

Thanks.

Terry,

I am trying to make a profile for my Canon 500D.  Maybe I'm missing something in saving the images.  I followed the instructions including your "trick".  I right clicked the image in the queue and selected convert images.   I clicked BMP and left the profile-to-profile conversion blanks.  When I load my test shots into PP I get warnings that they are over exposed.  Some of the RAW files are severely underexposed (intentionally as I did a few different exposures) if I open them in Canon's DPP software.

Thanks

I used some Red River paper a few years back for my old Canon S9000 and in the instruction it said to turn off print preview.  Not sure why.

I think any Lide is model ok.; apparently what makes it good is the fact it has an LED light source.
Terry

There are many scanners today that use white LED.  Is the Canon Lide better because it use 3 color LED?  Is any LED better than fluorescent?

7  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Demo Qimage Ultimate on: August 21, 2010, 04:27:47 AM
Great idea to reset the counter.  After initialing installing Qu 1.04 I realized I should have waited a bit to see what else came down. My 14 days just ran out.  Terry and Fred seem like their reliving their first dates (trying to keep it clean!!) with all their enthusiasm.

Thanks

8  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Some grumbling going on over here... on: July 27, 2010, 12:48:11 AM
I've been a Qimage Pro user for several years (even before there was a Pro) and have watched Mike take a beating anytime he tries something new.  A few years back he changed the UI and people went balistic wanting him to either revert back or offer an option to use the old one.  Mike insisted people would adapt and appreciate the new UI and we all have.  Studio came out and people complained Lite and Pro were going to short changed.  Studio is getting more updates.  Studio is getting more features.  Well people paid extra to buy Studio so they should get more.  Qimage Pro works great for me and the updates that come out are just icing on the cake for an already great product.  I've often wondered how Mike was surviving.  He must be selling to a lot of new users to keep going.

Now it's on to Ultimate.  If I pay $89 then I sure hope I get some extras.  I think what is getting Mike in trouble with Ultimate is having to keep the name Qimage in it.  Understandable due to name recognition.  If he called it XYZ things may be different as people would look at it as a new product.

I don't post here often but I could feel Mike's frustration having to continually repeat himself on why he is making the change.  In a couple months cooler heads will prevail and we can start discussing Qimage, in what ever form we have.

10  Mike's Software / Qimage / Re: Access Violation in comctl32.dll on: August 06, 2009, 09:43:50 PM
I'm was leaning towards the corrupted file also.  However, I've tried a half dozen other programs that display a folder window such as Qimage and have no issues.  I'll keep digging.  Something somewhere isn't playing nice.

11  Mike's Software / Qimage / Access Violation in comctl32.dll on: August 05, 2009, 02:53:23 AM
I have Qimage v2009.267 running on Win XP SP3 with 1.5GB of ram.  When I right click on a directory in the folder window I get the following error message:

Access violation at address 5D098019 in module comctl32.dll.  Write of address 00000000.

When I click OK the Windows right-click menu shows.  Is this a Qimage or Windows dll issue.  It does not happen within Windows Explorer.

Thanks.
