Thanks for all your help.

Not father and son but thanks for the compliments. It is a pic of me and a young photographer friend Grin

Capture One is not the problem considering the pics are from different dates, processing times, etc.
I wonder if there is a filter applied by mistake (perhaps mine). Is there a way to clear Qimage memory or cache for this directory?
I found the raw for one of the pics. Processed it again. Placed it into the "blue" directory and it shows up in QI with correct color.
Comments are welcome.

BTW when are you coming to Melbourne?

Hi, Every pic in this directory has a blue tone when viewed in QI

Why?

using other viewers show correct colours.

Hi Paul,
Just some questions for information.
What is the color space that shows at the bottom of Qimage in the hotbar.   SRGB
Did the JPGS come from a camera as a jpg, or were they converted to jpgs by what?   Converted from RAW using Capture One
I see the folder is named Photos/Israelpics/FOUND My name of folder as in "Note to myself"
Is the word found significant to the origin as I have done?  I have used a recovery program to find lost or deleted images?
Have you selected a few or all the thumbs and right click, Rebuild Selected Thumbs?    I've rebuilt thumbs
Last..... If you could email one image, easy to solve.   wathree.ssz@verizon.net     On its way

5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Order of thumbnails compared to order of prints on: December 30, 2015, 09:31:22 PM
Hi Guys,
All the best for 2016

My question:

I have a directory/folder with 350 pics. I want to print them all 4*6.
The thumbnails are shown in date order.

I then select them all and add all to the queue.

What order will they be shown on the page??

Epson 7900, page is 23inch *29inch

Thanks for your help.
Happy new year

Paul

Thanks Mike.

But Printed Area doesn't match Total Media. Can you explain further please.

Also what about ink since the menu says "Paper/Ink".

Obviously each printer and job uses different amounts. Is it possible to get some kind of average expected use from each of the printer manufacturers?
Huge headache I would imagine. Unless each one of us with different printers gave you some kind of readout/report from each printer.
maybe not be worth the effort?
maybe the user could input their own data for each job they have printed which would then be used by QU to enhance the Media report?
Perhaps fill in the last 10 jobs to get an average. My 9900 spits out a report, on request, of the last 10 jobs with the usage of each of the inks used.

Thanks, Paul

Let me explain.

Very simply it is what you think it isn't and isn't what you think it is.

I understand fully. It is a pretty panel designed by Mike to help you guess when to buy more paper.

In a nutshell...........still not sure what the panel is telling me.

Perhaps Mike can elaborate?

Thanks guys for all your replies.

Mike, a nice feature in Mirage (not criticizing QI) is lining up each pic to make it easier to cut.
Just printed out 20 images. Didn't want to use "template" setting because it seemed to waste paper.
Selected "sort print" which has been pretty good before BUT cuts become a bit awkward with many pics not lining up to make easy cuts.
Mirage offers a method of printer cutting on each line of prints, saving on extra time for cuts.

NOT major! BUT a nice feature.

have a great day

What does that mean: do not support QI anymore?
QI just needs the Epson driver and the ICC-profiles for the used paper.
So, I don't really see a problem.
Of cause your dealer wants to sell additional software. Maybe there are special profiles bundled for special papers with the software.
[So you are caught twice.
If you compare printing with Mirage from Photoshop with the native and "professional" printing interface of Photoshop then Mirage looks like an improvement. But just in that case  Grin

As long as you are not in the printing business and you need the printer for proofing, I see no need for any rip-software. I am not sure whether Mirage can do CMYK-proofs or just uses the Epson driver.
]

Sorry I meant: do not encourage customers to buy QI nor instruct them on how to use it.
Mirage does not need Photoshop to print.
No special bundles that I have been shown.
I think Mirage is just a fancy way of using the driver and, from what I understand, it is not a RIP.
It also will not print from PDF nor RAW. Only jpg and tif.

It has some pretty features that I think I can use BUT my allegiance is definitely to Qimage.
Thanks for your comments.

Mike,
Thankyou soo much for going to the trouble of trying it out.

I have been an advocate and prime fan of your outstanding software and support.
I have been using QI for as long as I have been printing. You can check yourself.
How can I encourage my printer supplier to go back to only supporting QI?

I will continue to promote only your software and use it for virtually all my printing.

A couple if things I do like about Mirage is the ease of making tiles (wallpaper for me) and separating lines of photos with the printer cutting after each line.

perhaps install the drivers for, say, an epson 9900 so the software will be fooled that you have such a printer. You might then find some of the features can be adopted by you.

Thankyou for your feedback.

Regards

I have been encouraged by the local supplier of my new Epson 9900 to use Mirage Print software.
They used to promote QI but now they sell Mirage and do not support QI anymore.

The price is about AU$745.00. Huge difference in price.
Not much difference in ability.

A couple of things I like compared to QI:
Tiling looks easier. This will encourage me to buy it because I want to make large murals.
Paper saving is easier. Automatically, if selected, cuts rows of pics to make trimming easier.
Canvas printing looks easier.

otherwise QI is amazing value for money.

Has anybody else looked at Mirage?

have a great day

Thanks a ton guys.

I'll let you know how I go using your advice.
Strange so difficult to find this kind of stuff on the net.
I must be looking in the wrong places.
But you have helped a lot.

Now back to my chocolate malted.

Now, Just recovered from the bottle of single malt.

I did the following:

Select paper size: 24inches by 78 inches
Photo size: 34inches by 78inches

Qimage says photo too big. therefore gonna spread across multiple sheets.
I say, go for it!

print preview (via epson driver) shows 2 sheets. i'm happy.

Printer prints 2 long prints. good!
Problem is 1/8th inch borders of white!! How do i match the 2 prints together to show virtually no join?
should i have printed borderless? (via driver)?

thanks for any help
have a great day
