Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: 112 will not open

Mike - thanks for the clue on Windows resetting the default driver. I went to Devices and Printers and my Epson 3880 was no longer even listed. I changed the default to one of the 4 listed (XPS something or other) and Qimage booted upp fine. I reloaded 112 and it worked too. Then I had to dig thru all my disks to find the original 3880 driver and reinstall that. I made that my default and now it works. When i was digging thru one of the Windows screens it had a switch that said Let Windows choose default printer. I turned that off. Hopefully that's the end of that nonsense. Computers are great when all is working well but boy is it hard when they aren't. Thanks again.

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / 112 will not open
|

Ver 112 worked ok 2 days ago. When I try to open it today it will not open and Windows shuts it down. I deleted the program and downloaded a new version and the same thing happens. The message that comes up has to do with no printer assigned to the E-printer in the exe file. I know Windows updated 1 or 2 days ago but I am at a loss on how to get Qimage working again. I suppose I could go back to an older version and see if that works and wait for the next update to get the newer version. Any ideas?

Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Print Orientation Problems

Mine works thru the print driver because I don't use the Photoshop plug in. I use multiple programs to develop my pictures so it is easier for me just to print from Qimage. I set up my driver thru Qimage and that is when I tick conserve paper. Glad you got it figured out.

Jim,
I use this feature quite a bit. Checkbook on one side, bank statement on other (plus some others). I'm not sure why I'd use it with Qimage, unless I would have Qimage and some photo editing program open at the same time. I can get all my other programs to work the way you describe but not Qimage. I have W7 64 bit, I7 quad processor. Interesting...

Technical Discussions / Printers / Re: ICC Profile Questions
|

In the print driver you set Watercolor as the paper type, then in Qimage you use the profile you downloaded. It will make the appropriate settings to the "Watercolor" type. It is a little confusing but when you separate the driver from the profile it makes more sense.
I use a Canon 6300. Depending on whose canvas I use I sometimes set the driver to Watercolor and other times to some type of matte canvas. This info comes with the profile or I put it in the profile when I make it myself. Then in Qimage when I set the profile I pick the one from the paper mfg. or from the profile I made.
Hope this helps

Technical Discussions / Printers / Re: Canon 6300 printer recommendation

I moved from an Epson 2200 to the 6300 and absolutely love it. It is a great printer and with Qimage I can do about anything with it. I have printed some award winning canvas' that are 16 x 40. It prints single sheets nicely (but you can't stack them). Yesterday, using Qimage, I printed 80 wallets mixed with a few 5 x7's for my daughter. It was a snap. The whole thing took about 15 minutes (from selection to print).
I highly recommend the 6300. Colors are great. I have gotten awards for several B&W's. Go for it and print alot. You'll really enjoy the printer, especially with Qimage.

I have upgraded to .132 from .130 - When I open Automated job file and select a job and right click all I get is a choice to rename or delete. I noticed that all of the jobs I have are .130 or earlier, does this make a difference. Do I have to do something like reopen all jobs and then save someway in .132? Any thoughts? Thanks,
Mike
