1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Have problems using "Send to Qimage" in Windows 10 on: September 01, 2019, 12:08:10 AM
Thanks for your reply.  My late reply is due to the fact that I have been out of town, and no access to the computer.

Anyway, I checked Edit menu-Preferences->When Images are Dropped into QU and Add to Queue was already selected.

The behavior is strange, but when I do a "Send to" I get a very small image on the preview window, but when I drag and drop the image, is sizes correctly.

When I do a "Send to Qimage Ultimate" in Windows 10, the image appears in the Qimage window, but very small (I have sized the prints to 20 x 16).  I then have to do a a remove all, and then drop the same image file onto the Qimage window.  It is now sized correctly.

How do I change the "Send to" behavior of Qimage?

Thanks in advance.

But in a previous topic, if I set "Fit to page", I get a larger print that consumes 4 sheets of paper.

Someone needs to look at this in Qimage Ultimate.

That's all well and good, but if I am printing a number of prints, I shouldn't have to go into each one to turn it off.

How do I turn it off permanently?

Autocrop WAS turned on.  I turned it off, and the sizing looks correct.

However, I still get the red scissors in the lower right corner.  How do I turn this off permanently?  I just copied the picture into the queue.  If I want something cropped, I'll do it myself.

Forgive me if I posted this a second time.  I don't think the first post actually was posted.

I am running Qimage Ultimate v2018.110.  I have a problem with Qimage sizing prints.  The photos show it best.

I tried to upload these photos to the board, but it kept complaining that they were too big.  Then it errored out and wouldn't post anything.

You can download the pictures here:  www.jjworld.com/images/QimageIssues.zip

The size of the picture is 4936 x 3296.

P1 is a print from the older Qimage Studio.  Note the white bars on the top and bottom of the print.  The Print does not fit the exact 81/2 x 11 page.
P2 is when I tried to print the photo today in Qimage Ultimate.  Same photo.  I tried Fit to Paper, Fit to Page, and other various combinations of sizes, and Qimage wanted to crop the left and right size so that the picture would fit in the page (or size) area.
P3 is when I printed the print from Photoshop.  Note that the top and bottom bars are there and the picture is not cropped.

How can I get Qimage Ultimate to size this picture correctly?

Thanks, Mike,

However, there is still the issue of "Fit to Page" vs "Fit to Paper".

"Fit to Paper" give me the oversize print that fills 4 pages.
"Fit to Page" seems to print correctly.

This seems to be a problem.  I should get the same results since the page size is the paper size.

I did save the setup, and now I am only getting one copy.

If I reported it to Canon, they would ignore me (as Epson always did).  If you or Mike reported it, they might fix it.

Pro 100 is NOT a Pro 1000.  Pro-1000 is the successor to the iPF5100, and has pigment inks.  Technically, the Pro-1000 is the magePROGRAF Pro-1000 and is the smaller (17") of their professional printer line.

I always get 1 copy in the driver.  In my driver, the print preview allows me to check the box.

Driver shows 1 copy, I get 3.  Fortunately, I figured out how to cancel the others.

Something's buggy.

Thanks.  That is what I was trying to do by emailing him.

I wonder if there is any way to get a copy of the older driver?

I am wasting paper and valuable ink in doing this testing.

Personally, I can't tell the difference between the output of this printer and my old 3880.  I profiled both using an i1Pro2 and Profilemaker.  I use Costco photo paper for proofing.

My 7 year-old 3880 got the dreaded PK/MK ink change switch failure.  To fix it, I have to replace the ink delivery system and re-prime the ink on the printer.  Cheaper to get a new printer.

I hate Epson.

That comment, sir, is a bunch of sheep!

However, I am familiar enough with Qimage to know to only print one image, not 3.  Anyway, here are the screenshots.  I thought I was only printing out one copy.

I think there is some sort of problem with Qimage.  I have used Qimage for years with my old Epson 3880 without these kinds of difficulties.

That worked, in the sense that I didn't get the additional 3 pages of marginal printing.  However, I did get 2 additional full prints that I never asked for.

I think there is a problem in Qimage.

You can get the image here: www.jjworld.com/images/_DSF1997.jpg

It's too big to send via the forum.

Thanks for responding.  I wonder why Mike didn't respond to my emails?

From the Hover:

Print size=Fit to paper
8.00 x 10.69  155 PPI
Detail-vs-size [-----v-----] 155 PPI = Good
1 Print Selected

I am running Qimage Ultimate v2018.110.

I just replaced my Epson 3880 with a Canon Pro-1000 because the Epson had a severe hardware problem.

When I print to the Canon Pro1000 I get the normal print that on the display, but I then get a 3 other pages with printing along the edges of those pages.

I have emailed Mike twice about this, with no reply.  I have attached photos of the pages with my email.  A zip file of the pictures can be downloaded at www.jjworld.com/images/PicturesOfPrintProblem.zip
This never happened with the 3880 and is a total waste of paper.

It also happens when I select borderless printing.

I tried to reset the print settings, but that was no help.  The picture prints fine from photoshop.

Please help me fix this.
