1  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Print driver help window covers print driver window on: June 23, 2018, 02:05:48 PM
This forum interface is new to me. Trying to get an image up but I don't have a hosting service. I'll keep trying but it's a busy day here today.

What happens is the printer dialog box for my Epson Surecolor P600 opens in lower left. I have Qimage in full screen. Printer driver dialog opens over the driver dialog box. I can still see and click "okay" or "Cancel" but that's all.

I am going to try rebooting after sending this because the help box prevented me from seeing the screen grab program. If it helps I will reply

EDITED: restarted computer and problem appears to be solved. Printer driver dialog just to the right of the help window.
2  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Print driver help window covers print driver window on: June 23, 2018, 10:13:28 AM
Minor issue that the printer driver keeps appearing lower left of the screen and help window covers it so I cannot change any settings.

Yes I can I turn the help window off and I probably don't need it anymore but why can I not get the driver window to stay in the lower right of the screen? I don't recall moving it left.
Now I try to move it back right, make a minor setting change and click okay but it returns to lower left when I open it again.

I really don't want to reset all the program settings

Thanks
3  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Re: Confused about poster options on: June 09, 2018, 01:19:46 PM
Getting them taped together wasn't my objective, sorry for not being clear.

I wanted each page to be equal image size (divided up equally on for separate sheets) to do do a segmented layout without cropping and making 4 separate files. Centered on the page too.
So by selecting 2x2 in this example and selecting an image size doesn't do I what I want apparently.

I know how to crop to do what I want. Was hoping for a faster solution using poster method.
4  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / Confused about poster options on: June 09, 2018, 10:24:43 AM
New user just purchased. Testing to understand how to get single image on 4 sheets of paper, 5x7 media for now.

Epson P-600 printer, Set media to 5x7, set custom poster to 2x2 with borderless printing setting first.
Get a notification of 3x3 in upper left corner.

If I turn borderless off it says 5x4

If I set driver to fit to page I get 4x3

I am sure I am missing something simple to get 2x2 output?
Please help set me straight.
Thanks
5  Mike's Software / Qimage Ultimate / How Can I do This? on: May 18, 2018, 11:52:16 AM
Can the below effect be done in ONE or Ultimate? This is just an example of the style of output I want. Would be my own image 13" wide strips of different lengths using my Epson P600 printer with roll paper and mounted to Gator board. This is for the joy of creating from start to fiinsh not for sale.
Can you walk me through the broad steps please? During my trial of Ultimate it looked like poster using 1 row by 5 columns but I dodn't see a comparable in the ONE package.

6  Technical Discussions / Camera Accessories / Re: DSLR lens changing on: May 14, 2018, 11:11:11 PM
I was told... fact or fiction, that I should turn off the camera, change lenses indoors or at least out of the wind, put the new lens on the camera body first, camel hair brush the back of the lens that is coming off, and put the rear cap on.
So far, I have been very lucky with no dust specks showing up.

Anyone with better tips on procedure?.
Fred

Turning off the camera is probably safer but I have done it both ways without negative results. I have access to Canon 500D, 80D and 7D2 and have done it both ways on all 3.
I try to be extremely  careful outdoors with wind and dust but I fear moisture getting trapped in the lens from the mount side far more. Fungus is death to a lens. Dust can be tolerated from functioning and image quality.

The camel hair brush is fine but keep clear of the mirror, most fragile part of your camera. Those first surface mirrors are extremely delicate. Advised not use anything other that clean air.

I am finding a feature list of QI one hard to find. Does one exist?

Just installed demo version.
Does it have ALL the printing features of Ultimate like poster, canvas wraps etc. From what I can see it can auto poster (not predefined but that may work well enough) but I cannot find canvas wraps.

Hi, kind of new here. My daughter owns the 80D and loves it. I have the 7D2 and recommended the 80D for her. She was not interested in the higher frame rate and the higher rez and touch screen suited her better. Of course we would both like a 5D4 but realities of money kick our butts.

I am sure you will love the performance.

My advice would be get the best glass you can because you lose lens resolution on crop sensors due to only using about 62% of the image the lens provide.

I did contact them via email. First reply didn't address my question

At this point I am not certain it's air or clog. If a clog would seem odd with drastic difference between this one channel and the rest but  I am no expert.

Downloaded trial version and fully functional for purge printing.

The bad news is I ran about a dozen purge pages with periodic nozzle checks. I started the process with about 20% of the channel printing and went down to ZERO as I continued.

Probably not in the scope of this forum but at this point I having trouble telling for sure if it's air or a serious clog. The cart appeared to be primed according the manufacturers instructions.

Not sure what to do now except continue to print purge pages

Love to find the program to force the printer to go through it's initial prime cycle since it pulls a vacuum on each line

Thank you, I take it it's a yes then it will eventually prime the line?

Will the trial version perform that function? Everything I read says the trial has very few limitations, RAW support and only 4 images at a time? Temporary lull in disposable funds.

Hi, new to forum. Tried searching but couldn't find my answer.

I may have accidentally (actually daughter using printer) may have let one color run out. Using PC inks and cartridges from their site. Printer has sat idle for a while too while a host of other emergencies were dealt with leaving no time for printing.

Nozzle check shows most colors with perfect to small skips except one color (fourth from left, not in front of printer now) Completely blank. Ran 2 cleaning cycles, refilled ink carts so another cleaning cycle. I am hesitant to do any more. Just my luck today I would have a flood of ink out the bottom of my printer. I am doubtful this is a clog since it's completely blank but I guess it's possible.

I have not purchased Qimage yet but will the program help me purge just that one channel (color) in the purge sheet option by selecting only that color and running it multiple times? I can try priming the cart separately.

Thanks in advance for any help
