I tried repeating the problem but am not getting any shifting.

One thing I notice is that you have some pretty large custom margins defined.  In your screenshot that shows the red template, I see a dot at the bottom middle that likely indicates your floating text.  If that's where you put your floating text in your layout, it might cause a problem because even though the dot is at the bottom middle, that would put the text outside your margins and that could cause problems with the floating text.

Also, floating text that is linked to a print is linked relative to the top left corner of the print.  Your template fills out the entire printable area given the margins but when you add your image, it is smaller (top to bottom) because of the aspect ratio.  That can also cause problems if you are using crop off because the top left corner of the print changes relative to your layout after the print is resized to fit in your template.

You might just try an experiment.  Instead of making those restrictive margins, change your print placement to Freehand and then just remove the margins and save a new layout that way.  The template should stay at the same size and location but the text will be allowed to move relative to the print without being restricted by the margins.

Regards,
Mike

I am having a problem with floating text moving as soon as it prints.
I lay out the print and floating text like I want it. I print the print and it prints just fine. As soon as the job has completed sending to the Canon Pro-2600 the floating text seems to have disappeared. Actually, it has moved to another place on the page.
I have included a link to several screen grabs below.
I have been using QI for several years it is the first time this has happened. Smiley
Thanks, Jason

I received the four JPEG images you sent.  All four come up 300 DPI for me.

Are you sure you didn't override the embedded size?  Click "More" at the bottom of the print sizes and then check "Original Size" and see if the override box in the upper right is checked.  That's the only way I can see that you wouldn't get the embedded size when you choose the "Original Size" print size.

Mike

Thanks for the reply. I have numerous print jobs that have one hundred or so images. These jobs represent certain projects. The images have to be in a certain order. If I want to print say 10 images which are not in a consecutive order then I have to start the prints 10 times which is not very convenient. Meanwhile I found a workaround using the New Session w/Selected option. With this option the selected images (pages) are in a consecutive order and I can print them in one go.

Now it is working as expected

Kind regards

That screenshot shows that you are in a folder: F:\PHOTOS\CURRENT\2025\...

So Qimage will show you the photos in that folder.  If you sent the photos from LR via the plugin, you won't be in your photos folder like that but instead you'll be in an export folder created by the plugin.

I'm not sure what process you are using but this is the correct method to call Qimage from Lightroom:

- Open Lightroom and select the thumbnails you want to send via the thumbs at the bottom of the Lightroom window.
- In Lightroom, select "File", "Plug-in Extras", and then select "Qimage Ultimate.
- Qimage will open with (only) the files you have selected in LR.

Note that in Qimage, the location (above the thumbnails) will be your Qimage export folder (usually something like C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\ddisoftware\Qimage-U\Plugins\Export\<today's date> [LR].  That's your export folder from the LR session.

If you see a true folder on your hard drive (like in your screenshot) instead of an export folder then yes: Qimage is showing you all the images in that folder.

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for your fast response
What happens is that instead of bringing the selected image, it brings up the whole folder and I have to select the image from the thumbnails.
I am attaching screen capture

Thanks in advance
Carlos

Qimage reads the embedded size (if there is one) from the file.  I can't see what type of image file that is.  Is it JPEG, TIFF, PSD?

If 300 PPI is embedded in the file, Qimage will use that if you select "Original Size" as the print size.  If not, either the file is incompatible with embedded size reading or there is no size embedded.

You can put a sample on Google Drive and provide a link if you want me to look at your specific file to see if I can tell why it is showing that 257 PPI.

Regards,
Mike
