2025.104      May 13, 2025

Priority: High

v2025.104 includes:

  • High res page simulation: See a high res simulation of your printed pages before printing, even at actual size on your monitor!  See video: https://youtu.be/D_ylFH1FnGs
  • Print sizes: Updated the "More" print sizes option, particularly "Number of prints per page" and removed duplicates that are on the main size list.
  • Soft proof: New option on main live view soft proof to choose the out of gamut highlight color.
  • Cutout frames: Improved scaling of cutout frames so the edges of the frame do not distort when the aspect ratio doesn't match the frame.
  • (Bug fix) Profile suggestion tool: Fixed the "Suggest profiles" option.
  • (Bug fix) Rating: Fixed a bug where changing the user rating of images didn't work while using the preview and add feature in an album.
  • (Bug fix): Fixed a bug from previous 2025.103 where printed colors are wrong after using the high res print simulation.

I meanwhile noticed that the issue shows up after I used the High Res Page Simulation.

I had the same problem with 2 images added to a saved job created with V102. Only the new added images added under V103 came out pale. After closing Qimage and opening again, the new images added under V103 came out as expected.

Something weird with colour output happened after I installed ver103 this morning. It installed normally, no issues. I'm on Win10.
Here's the sequence of events...

First job printed was fine. no issues.

Then I recalled a job I've printed many times previously and printed it.
All printer, media and CM settings were correct.
Colour output was so pale that I thought my printer had dropped a few inks. But, nozzle check was perfect.
Restarted printer, and reprinted the job. No difference, still pale.
Reverted to ver102 and reprinted the job. Colour came out correct.

I've now re-installed ver103 and tested the same job and it's printing correctly. Very strange. I've got no theories at the moment, not even a hunch. But I'm going to keep an eye on this

I'll give you as much input as I can but it's starting to look like your PC has some serious problems.  You seem to be a fan of these "snake oil" programs like cleaners, optimizers, and third party uninstallers.  Those are a recipe for turning your PC into a zombie machine and using those could have caused corruption even at the operating system level that could trickle into (random) programs!  Just my 2 cents.

If it crashed when you clicked the unclog button in Qimage (I assume that's what you mean since there is no unclog icon in the taskbar), there is something seriously wrong with your PC.  Clicking the unclog button does nothing but bring up another window.

We can try one last thing and if this doesn't work, you will have to find a way to repair your PC or just reset everything and reinstall Windows fresh (and not use the snake oil programs afterward).

  • Uninstall Qimage using the normal Qimage uninstaller.
  • Open a File Explorer window and type %appdata% in the top location bar and press enter
  • Locate and delete the entire ddisoftware folder
  • Open RegEdit (you can type RegEdit in Windows search)
  • Type Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software in the top location bar and press enter
  • On the left side list, locate and delete the ddisoftware entry and then close RegEdit
  • Reinstall Qimage normally

After doing that, Qimage is installed as if it was never present on that PC (virgin install).  Since there is nothing saved that it will load that might be corrupted, it does nothing but open and read the photos in your Windows "Pictures" folder.  If it still crashes, the only possibilities are:

(1) The printer driver is still crashing
(2) Your PC has an underlying issue
(3) There are corrupted photos in your Windows "Pictures" folder.

Hi Mike

I did a full reset-
1. Uninstalled my Epson P800 drivers (didn't touch Epson WF-3640 - should I have reinstalled that also ?)
2. Uninstalled QImage using RevoPro which first uses the programs Uninstall (Unwise.exe) then scan for residuals in registry and windows nook and crannies.
3. Rebooted my PC
4. Reinstalled Epson P800 driver (no error and test printed page was perfect)
5. Reinstalled QImage Ultimate
6. Started QI holding Shift key down per instructions
7. QImage opened normally and when I touched the Purge/Schedule Unclog Ican in Taskbar, QImage immediately closed.
8. When I reopened QImage again, I was greeted with the "QImage-Did not shut down properly code 15-run" error box.
9, I attached the latest Install.log if that helps.
