is it possible to tap into the GPU via OpenCL to speed up the displaying images, files are getting bigger and bigger, when you load multiple images into qimage (let's say from Fuji 100s or Sony 7rv) it takes time to move from one image to another in the editor or when you try to crop

No.  That's more suited for video and 3D modeling.  I presume you are talking about raw photos since those have to be developed and take more time: those are not suited for GPU processing.

Mike

it is now very very clear why the unclog functionality was added to qimage! By the way this was the slowest year ever since I have owned qimage, only one update.  i am hoping you have cooked up something nice for us.

Printers include each driver variety of each printer (network attached, USB, Canon XPS, etc)

PLUS all the PDF or other software drivers such as Foxit PDF, Evernote, Microsoft XPS document writer, One Note, pdf Factory, Snagit, FinePrint, etc. are defined as printers.

So even if you only have 1 physical printer, you can have many defined as "printers" by the operating system.

I have 2 physical printers, each with a network and USB connection, and with software "printers"  17 printers in all are defined in my system and Qimage finds them all.

You mean I'm going to get 42 printers?  Cheesy

I mean... I'm only really using 2 so I could give you 40 if you like.  The drivers anyway.   Wink

That's an odd one I don't see very often.  The roller/paper must be very slightly slipping or miscalibrated.  IF the P900 prints OK otherwise, you could probably compensate for it in Qimage by using Qimage's canvas shrink compensation.  Even though it's not canvas, in theory it should work.  Maybe try 0.5% compensation and see if it comes out right.

Hi Mike,
Yes, I know. Did the test with Qimage, Capture One and Photoshop. Same result : the P900 has for each print a problem of 1 or 2 mm... When I print exact the same image with same settings/paper/software to the P600, everything is alright.
It's because I need the greater print format, otherwise I could stay with my good old P600...

Thanks for thinking with me and giving advise !

Epson will blame the software if you don't have corroborating evidence so be sure to print the same size in other software too so you can tell them it isn't software dependent.  As long as your (driver) settings are the same, you should get the same size in any software.  That way you can tell them you tried it in Qimage, Photoshop, Affinity, etc.

Regards,
Mike
