Hello Qimage community, my name is John and I'm new to Qimage. I bought it to print to canvas from a roll but just can't figure out where all the settings are. The tutorials don't seem to show that, they're mostly for sheet goods and sheet sizes.
What I have not been able to find is where to input the width of the canvas roll? It would seem obvious that IF I choose "roll" anything, IT would automatically ask the width but it does not. The list stays on sheet sizes. So What am I doing wrong or not doing at all? I've looked at various YouTubes but they're all geared for sheet goods. The only refernce here, I think it's in "using borders" and still does not go over how to set up a roll size. I'm hoping somebody is home that knows!? If you can point me to a video specifically for canvas roll set up, that might do the trick? Thanks so much in advance but I only have a couple days to print these!!! There is no phone support at Qi is there?? John |

That's not up to Qimage: that's all the printer driver. So make sure you have the latest Windows driver installed from the Epson website. Then make sure your media size is set to something that will fit in the cassette: for example if you have any paper larger than 8.5 x 11 selected, the cassette selections are not valid.
Since the driver is "feeding" Qimage with those selections, you can also just click the "Properties" button and go into the driver and make your selections there; if there is something wrong that won't allow you to select cassette 1 or 2, the driver will tell you. Regards, Mike |

Epson 8550 is missing for source cassette 1 and 2, the others are present after migrating to new drive. All extra made icc had to be manually installed too, but somewhat logic thou. Win10pro to win11 pro.
Using Epson photo + have the cassettes as source so somewhere Q isn't seeing cassette drivers are on PC. Best Niels |

Qimage has multiple search capabilities. If you are talking about searching for an image number like "1234", just click right above the thumbnails where it says "Search Thumbnails" and type "1234" and it'll show you only the images in the current folder with "1234" in the file name. There's also database searching, searching for meta data, search entire folders/drives, etc. as part of the database searching capabilities but I suspect you are talking about file names.

Are you talking about the number that is part of the file name?

Hi, is there an easy way of finding an image number, so like in lightroom you can just type a number and the image appears, I sometimes have 10000 images in one folder and this would make it easy to process
thanks |

When installing on a new computer, just refer to the most recent registration/download email that you received. Follow the instructions in that email to download the most recent version and install on the new computer using those instructions. Once installed, you can also transfer your old setups and saved jobs. Use "Utilities", "Migrate/Copy Qimage Application Data" from the menu. Using that option, you can copy all the saved information from one location to another (to a temporary disk and then to the new computer, through the network to the new computer, etc.). If you'd like to do the data move operation manually, you can use "Utilities", "Explore Qimage Application Data" and that will take you to the location of the Qimage data files. Simply copy all files/folders from that location to the same location on the new computer and you're ready to go.

Hi
Best strategy for this ? As of now installed Q_ult on the new drive. works OK, but is missing my ICC's and jobs. Compared to the win10 installation now no ddisoftware Dir in ProgramData. The data on win10 is now seen in win11 Pro under user/nk/AppData/Local/Roaming/ddisoftware/Qimage_U Tried different copy paste but this doesn't work Fx ICC's made not there anymore, the old job list neither nor earlier additions to different seizes of print etc. (3 dayes of trying now ) Best Niels |

Then you are not doing what I asked. I can't see what you are doing now (what you claim moves the print to page 2) and I can only go off what you showed in your first screencast because that's all we have. As I said in reply to your screencast, at the point just after you open your Pro-2100 job (and before you switch to print-to-file), turn off Freehand placement mode by clicking the hand button below the live view. Then switch you print-to-file and specify your 18x24 page size and everything will work fine. Unlocking that freehand mode from your Pro-2100 job before you do anything will correct the problem you caused by using a job that contains a freehand page where prints are locked to an absolute position.
Or, instead of opening a job designed for the Pro-2100, just set up your 18x24 print-to-file page first and simply add an 18x24 size print of the image you want and add the border/mat afterward. Either way will work. Mike |
