The names of the canson profiles all look very similar and non-descriptive of the paper they apply to. Anyone have a suggestion for easily determining which profile to choose when setting up to print?

The easy way is to open the list of profiles from Qimage. This will show the description as well as the enigmatic file name.
Click on the little set of tools icon.... ses screen snap 101 below

Then click the tool marked with my cursor arrow  to access the list.  Snap 100

See the full list  099

Thanks, BUT, the CANSON (not Canon) profile names and descriptions don’t point to the paper they were designed for. Names are inscrutable.

Please explain what you are saying. CANSON??      That chart shows Epsons HP printers, Canon, etc.
Make sure the selector on the bottom says printer.

So if they are supplying printing profiles for their papers and your printer, simply place those files in the
C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color    folder, and they will be included in the list.

Yes, but their names are arcane and do not correspond to the papers, so when one chooses a paper, you either have to guess at which profile to use or go look it up at canson each time. A real inconvenience.

I haven't used Canson but had a similar problem with Innova papers before they updated their naming a few years ago.  Just get the name-paper association from the web site, then save the combination in QIMAGE as a printer setup file which you can name to match the paper.  Then just recall the setup file and the appropriate profile will be loaded.

Thanks! Glad there’s a solution
