Title: Canon ‘fine Art’ 35mm margin – gone!
Post by: RS-MAN on March 10, 2012, 03:57:08 PM
Hi All,

Use the Hahnemuhle ICC profile for the correct paper and set the paper as Matt Photo Paper, I find these settings an improvement over Canon’s settings . This also stops the enforced 35mm margin.

Kind regards

Shaun

I think Fred said on one of your other threads that Canon probably have a good reason for insisting on the 35mm margin with that other paper for technical reasons. Hope you have some success with the new paper.  ;)

I have sorted my margin problem out. IMHO Canon imposed this margin for no reason (other than it looks good, even if it is restrictive) and again IMHO they have lost a lot of sales.

I read that Hahnemuhle ICC profiles recommend Matt Photo paper for my Canon 9500. This gets around the 35mm margin. I have now printed 3 A4 and 2 A3+ prints with very small margins one at 10mm (just under ˝ in. There seems to be no problem.
