https://ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/dl-8550.htm

I've started a repository for ICC profiles that I've created for the Epson ET-8550 (link above).  Right now there are a bunch of Canon papers, one HP paper, and a couple "replacement" profiles for Epson papers that I think are a bit better than the ones that come with the printer/driver.

I realize many of us came from Canon printers and we have a lot of leftover Canon paper.  The most popular Canon papers are covered above so download ICC profile(s) for your Canon paper and use it in your ET-8550!

I will add more (free) profiles for other papers in the future and the page will be updated as new profiles become available.

Regards,
Mike

I've got mine!  Wow.   Thanks, Mike.

If you get any inquiries needing profiles for CanonG620 which did  not come with any profiles  at all, ask Mike. I could use them for my Canon G620

Mike, are you able to get a 8550 profile for the Canon “Photo Paper Plus Glossy II”?

You and Fred convinced me to try the 8550 (great recommendation!!).  I had a big old box of these 4x6s and can now use them….but need profile.

Thx, John

I don't have any of that but did you try the profile for Canon platinum?  I bet that would work.

Thanks, Mike.  I had not thought of using a different profile, but the remembered Canon & Epson don’t make their papers.  Tried Epson Ultra Glossy and it was very good…..maybe what appears as slight WB difference, if any.  This will allow me to have 4x6 loaded in cassette 1 and use via Epson iPad app….which only has Epson profiles.

You probably will not find existing profiles for many of those papers.  I saw that Red River has ET-8550 profiles for (all?) their papers.  Many of these I have used an was happy with.

Mike, just realized Moab already has profiles for most of their media in their website for the Epson ET-8500-8550! Easy navigation, choose printer / model and voilà! These profiles are definitely new as I don’t think were there a couple weeks ago… As for Inkpress I tried Epson own type (Luster and Matte) for paper and I see good results!

Thank you for your Canon to Epson ET-8550 profile for the Canon Luster! I just printed a 13x19 with perfect results. I appreciate the link. Great job

I am somewhat of a Canon fanboy (PRO-2000, G620, iP100) but I used to run some Epson machinery when I worked in a retail drylab (SC-P6000, SL-D3000, SL-D700) and was quite fond of those. I am picking up an 8550 secondhand (with a good nozzle check in hand of course) and appreciate the profiles for this Canon paper quite immensely. If I can get away with it, I would like to keep using Canon papers as in my experience, they're quite nice and a good value. Cheaper than Epson papers from what I've seen. Especially since I have several Canon machines as well.

I have a not-insignificant pile of Canon paper and was wondering if it would be possible to "donate" some to get more profiles made for the 8500 series. Particularly the Canon Glossy, Plus Glossy II, and Matte Photo papers are not listed and I have a decent stock of LTR sheets for all of them.

I would be happy to spend the supplies to make some swatches, and cover shipping them to be made into profiles for this repo. I don't have the resources to make the profiles myself, but I can put ink on paper.

Please let me know if that's of any interest.
